These reforms and investments are expected to reduce risk, improve policy credibility, and create markets, thereby enabling private capital to flow into priority sectors. Building on these enabling conditions, IFC will scale direct investments and advisory services in job-rich and productivity-enhancing sectors such as energy, agribusiness value chains, manufacturing, tourism, digital infrastructure, and financial services. IFC investments will be designed to mobilize private co-financing and demonstrate commercial viability, while advisory services will support PPP structuring, firm competitiveness, and market entry. MIGA will complement IDA and IFC through political risk insurance and credit enhancement, mitigating non-commercial risks and crowding in foreign direct investment and long-tenor financing in frontier and higher-risk sectors.
