Subsequent sections will focus on each sub-domain specifically.  \nOverall process  \nBelow is a flow-chart that illustrates the question writing process from start to finish for any question regardless of sub-type.  \nThe first two steps are covered in the content creator guide and simply involve checking the question availability spreadsheet.  \nPreparing a word document  \nTo create a question you first need a word document that is correctly formatted so that you can copy and paste a template into it. Follow the steps below to do this!  \nStep one: change the margins to narrow  \n1. In the toolbar beneath the blue banner at the top of the page press ‘Layout’  \n2. Press ‘margins’  \n3. Change the margins to ‘narrow’  \nStep two: change the orientation to landscape  \n1. Press ‘Layout’ in the top toolbar (as per the previous step)  \n2. Press ‘Orientation’  \n3. Press ‘Landscape’  \nStep three: paste in your template  \nNow you are ready to copy and paste the template you are using into a word document and you can get writing!  \nWhat if I need extra pages?  \nMission Medicine©  \nSimple – copy and paste more blank templates into your document.  \nWriting your question  \nWhen writing any UCAT question it is best to be aware of both the general and question specific guidance for it. After you have read this, you can plan and get creating!  \nGeneral guidance: requirements of a UCAT question  \nThere are a few general requirements for you and the questions you create. Further question specific guidance can be found in the sections for each domain of the UCAT.  \n• You must have taken and passed the exam that you are writing questions for.  \n• The question must make sense, be of an appropriate difficulty and adhere to the criteria set out below for each section and subtype.  \nGeneral guidance: principles of a UCAT question  \nThe following principles underpin the UCAT questions we aim to create at Mission Medicine.  \n1. Be entirely your own work and not taken or adapted, either partially or completely from another source  \n2. Match the UCAT format & aesthetic as closely as possible (with the current MM branding; see below for template)  \n3. Represent the content found in the UCAT  \na. We will produce be a range of easy to hard questions.  \n4. Come with a set of answers in the required format  \n5. Come with an explanation as to how the candidate was supposed to arrive at the right answer (include the thinking/technique!)  \n6. Not contain any controversial or offensive material  \n7. To the best of the authors ability be multi-cultural and inclusive  \n8. Use Arial font  \nGeneral guidance: writing an explanation  \nMission Medicine©  \nA good explanation is key as it turns a question from a testing tool into a learning tool!  \nA Mission Medicine explanation should contain  \n1. The answer to the question, clearly presented.  \n2. Why the answer is correct – what key words were used?/what logical reasoning was required?/why was it not the other answers?  \n3. The strategy that should be employed by the candidate to reach the correct answer as quickly as possible (often there is more than one way!)  \na. This includes mnemonics and other memory aids.  \n4.
