Gross Words: This is the total number of words typed by the candidate; it includes both correct and incorrect words. \nGross Words is calculated as: Typed words. \n2. Gross Words per min (GWPM): The total number of words typed in one minute. \nGWPM is calculated as: Gross Words/Time taken in minutes \n3. Net Words: The number of correct words typed. \nNet Words is calculated as: Correct Words \n4. Net words per min (NWPM) = Net Words/Time taken in minutes \n*Note: The above parameter has been considered for evaluation and preparation of merit with defined criteria of @35 wpm for English and @30 wpm for Hindi in CBSE Exam. \n5. Accuracy: The number of correct words entered. \nAccuracy of content is calculated as: NWPM*100/GWPM \nSample Illustrations of above formula are as follows; \n1. Candidate A-typed total 390 words out of which 388 are correct and 2 are incorrect in a duration of 10 minutes. Hence, \nTotal Typed Words = 390 Correct Words = 388 Incorrect Words = 2 \nGross words per Minute (GWPM) = 390/10 = 39 words per minute Net words per Minute (NWPM) = 388/10 = 38.8 words per minute Accuracy = 38.8*100/39 = 99.49 % \nHence, actual typing speed of the candidate is 38.8 words per minute. \n2. Candidate B-typed total 447 words out of which 447 are correct and 0 are incorrect in a duration of 10 minutes. Hence, \nTotal Typed Words = 447 Correct Words = 447 Incorrect Words = 0 \nGross words per Minute (GWPM) = 447/10 = 44.7 words per minute Net words per Minute (NWPM) = 447/10 = 44.7 words per minute Accuracy = 44.7*100/44 .7 = 100 % \nHence, actual typing speed of the candidate is 44.7 words per minute. \n3. Candidate C-typed total 316 words out of which 316 are correct and 0 are incorrect in a duration of 10 minutes. Hence, \nTotal Typed Words = 316 Correct Words = 316 Incorrect Words = 0 \nGross words per Minute (GWPM) = 316/10 = 31.6 words per minute Net words per Minute (NWPM) = 316/10 = 31.6 words per minute Accuracy = 31.6*100/31 .6 = 100 % \nHence, actual typing speed of the candidate is 31.6 words per minute. \n4. Candidate D-typed total 521 words out of which 401 are correct and 120 are incorrect in a duration of 10 minutes. Hence, \nTotal Typed Words = 521 Correct Words = 401 Incorrect Words = 120 \nGross words per Minute (GWPM) = 521/10 = 52.1 words per minute Net words per Minute (NWPM) = 401/10 = 40.1 words per minute Accuracy = 52. 1*100/40 .1 = 76.96 % \nHence, actual typing speed of the candidate is 40.1 words per minute. \n5. Candidate E-typed total 550 words out of which 390 are correct and 160 are incorrect in a duration of 10 minutes. Hence, \nTotal Typed Words = 550 Correct Words = 390 Incorrect Words = 160 \nGross words per Minute (GWPM) = 550/10 = 55 words per minute Net words per Minute (NWPM) = 390/10 = 39 words per minute Accuracy = 52. 1*100/40 .1 = 70.90 % \nHence, actual typing speed of the candidate is 39 words per minute.","cbCaikakT3HWvE9h","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaikakT3HWvE9h","pdf",34628,"English","# Typing test parameters\n## Gross words and GWPM\n## Net words and NWPM\n## Accuracy formula\n# Sample illustrations for candidates","[{\"question\":\"What is Gross Words in the typing test calculation?\",\"answer\":\"Gross Words is the total number of words typed by the candidate, including both correct and incorrect words.\"},{\"question\":\"How do you calculate GWPM and NWPM?\",\"answer\":\"GWPM is Gross Words divided by time in minutes, and NWPM is Net Words divided by time in minutes.\"},{\"question\":\"How is typing accuracy calculated from GWPM and NWPM?\",\"answer\":\"Accuracy is calculated as NWPM*100/GWPM, giving the percentage of correct typing relative to gross speed.\"}]","Typing Test Formula and Illustrations - Speed and Accuracy Calculations | PDF",1790654689]
