Explains how to position fingers at rest, which finger controls each key, and how to use the raised bumps on F and J to locate the home keys without looking. Provides posture and break guidance, encourages quiet key-naming, and includes multiple guided typing exercises using letter sequences for repeated practice. No peeking. \nMake sure you are sitting up straight, your feet flat on the floor. Keep your elbows close to your body, your wrists straight and your forearms level, and remember ‐ take regular breaks. \nWhen you are ready to begin, start an exercise and strike the key requested. Try not to look at the keyboard. It will be difficult at first but as the exercise progresses you will find it becomes easier and your fingers will begin to move without you consciously deciding which finger is associated with which key. \nYou may find it helpful to quietly say the name of the key as you strike it. \nDon't let your mistakes cause you to lose heart, typing is a skill that can be learned by practice. \nLesson 1 Exercises: \nExercise 1: \nPlease type \nasdfg hjkl; asdfg hjkl; ;lkjh gfdsa asdfg hjkl; ;lkjh gfdsa ;lkjh gfdsa \nExercise 2: \nPlease type \nah had lag slag ah had lag slag ah had ah had lag slag \n[http://www.typeonline.co.uk/ 1](http://www.typeonline.co.uk/ 1) \nAnn Tendijowski – February 10, 2011 \nExercise 3: \nPlease type \nhash flash ask has hash flash ask has hash hash flash ask hash \nExercise 4: \nPlease type \ndash gash lash dash gash lash dash gash lash dash gash lash \nExercise 5: \nPlease type \nlad sash flag lad sash flag lad sash flag lad sash flag lad sash \nExercise 6: \nPlease type \nfall gall hall lass fall gall hall lass fall fall gall hall lass fall \nExercise 7: \nPlease type \nglass alfalfa adds glass alfalfa adds glass alfalfa adds glass alfalfa \nExercise 8: \nPlease type \nsad shall salad sad shall salad sad shall salad sad shall salad sad shall \nExercise 9: \nPlease type \nash glad alas ash glad alas ash glad alas ash glad alas ash glad alas \nExercise 10: \nPlease type \nall flask half all flask half all flask half all flask half all flask half \n[http://www.typeonline.co.uk/ 2](http://www.typeonline.co.uk/ 2) \nAnn Tendijowski – February 10, 2011 \nLesson 2: \nThe third row of the keyboard is the Q‐W‐E‐R‐T‐Y row. \n• The left index finger will control the R and T keys, the right index finger will control the Y and U keys. \n• The left middle finger will control the E key, the right middle finger will control the I key. \n• The left ring finger will control the W key, the right ring finger will control the O key. \n• The left little finger will control the Q key, the right little finger will control the P key. \n\n| The QWERTY row.\u003Cbr>LEFT HAND RIGHT HAND\u003Cbr>LF RF MF IF IF IF IF MF RF LF | | | | | | | | | |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| Q | W | E | R | T | Y | U | I | O | P |\n| A | S | D","cbCaidGwP0dyiHuD","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidGwP0dyiHuD","pdf",160824,"English","# Lesson 1: Home row\n## Finger positions and key control\n## Practice guidance and Exercise 1-10\n# Lesson 2: QWERTY row\n## Finger positions and key control\n## Practice guidance and Exercise 1-9","[{\"question\":\"How should fingers be positioned on the keyboard for Lesson 1?\",\"answer\":\"At rest, place the left-hand fingers lightly on A-S-D-F and the right-hand fingers lightly on J-K-L-;.
