The aim of the game is for the turkey to cross the field and escape to the other side. The farmers are trying to capture the turkey for the Thanksgiving meal!  \nAge range: 1st Grade +  \nNumber of players: 2  \nLearning: Strategy and logical thinking You will need  \n- The turkey and farmer counters on the playing pieces sheet (alternatively use colored counters)  \nInstructions  \n• One player is the turkey, the other player is the farmers.  \n• Start the game with the turkey on the square with the red cross, and the 4 farmers on the squares with the white crosses.  \n• Each turn, the turkey can move diagonally backwards or forwards one square only. The farmers can only move down the board diagonally towards the turkey one square at a time – the farmers cannot move back up the board.  \n• Each turn the turkey must move, and one famer must move.  \n• The turkey always moves first.  \n• The farmers are able to trap the turkey (and win the game) by cornering her/him so that the she/he cannot move.  \n• The turkey wins the game by getting across the field to the other side (the bottom of the board)  \nVariations  \n• Play the game with more or fewer farmers.
