My magic is much more powerful than yours, Tsilu.  \nTsilu: No it's not, Rarin!  \nRarin: Yes it is! Yesterday I stopped the big waves from crashing into our house, didn't I?  \nTsilu: Huh! The tide was already going out.  \nRarin: What about last year when it  \nRarin: All right. See that small fig  \ntree near the house? Papa wants to get rid of it because when it grows big, the wind will blow it onto our house and we may be killed. Let's see who can make it dry.  \nTsilu: R-right! How long will each of us go for?  \nRarin: We will have three days each to show our magic powers. I will start off. If the tree does not dry up  \nby the third day, it will be your turn.  \nNext day. Rarin: Now, I've collected my lime, the roots, and leaves and water.  \nI'll mix them in this pot. Now I'll pour it around the base of the tree and say my magic words.  \nShow Tsilu that we are powerful. Show him that his magic does not have any power. Show him that with you, everyone will envy us.  \nTsilu (coming in): Ha! ha! ha! He! he! he! Rarin, do you really think that  \nNext day  \nRarin: That's funny. The tree doesn't seem to be dying. Doesn't it work any  \nEarly the next day...  \nTsilu (coming in): Everyone is still asleep, now I'll get to work. We don't need magic for this job; what we need is science! I'll just pour boiling water around the tree. That will kill the roots and the tree will die. Here is the drum and there's plenty of water in it.  \n(He makes the fire, puts the drum of water on it and waits.)  \nThe next day  \nTsilu: Aha! The leaves are starting togo yellow. I will finish the job tonight and show Rarin that his magic has no power.  \nTsilu (coming in with a bucket): I'll pour three more buckets of boiling water around the roots. That should kill them.  \nThe next day Rarin (coming in): I better go and check the tree. Oh no! The tree is drying up. Tsilu is going to laugh at me. What am I going to say to him?  \nTsilu (walking up to Rarin): Now brother, what happened to your magic?  \nRarin: I still don't understand. I might have made a mistake in mixing up my stuff. My magic always works. How could you dry up that  \nTsilu: Aha! Brother, are you saying that you really don't have magic powers?  \nRarin: I do, I do! But I don't know why it didn't work.  \nTsilu: So! You are admitting your magic doesn't work?  \nRarin : No! I...  \nTsilu: Come on, Rarin, admit it.  \nRarin: All right.
