During her journey, Rina encounters significant pollution, tripping on a plastic bag and lamenting the squished bananas intended for her grandpa. The narrative then expands to depict the widespread trash problem, showing its impact on a dog, a hen, and the villagers attempting to navigate a stream choked with garbage. Upon arriving at her grandpa's house, Rina learns about his composting efforts and the long-term environmental damage caused by plastic pollution. Her grandpa explains that plastics contaminate soil, water, and air, and persist for centuries, leaving behind microplastic fragments. The story highlights the severe consequences of unmanaged waste and lack of environmental awareness, using Rina's personal experience as a relatable entry point into the broader issue of pollution. The narrative underscores the importance of understanding the effects of garbage on the environment and the long-lasting harm plastics inflict upon natural resources.","Trash Garden Yan Sreylin Chhan Porey \nDuring the holidays, Rina asks her mom if she can visit her grandpa. He lives in the most remote part of the village. \n”Okay,” her mom says, “Don’t forget to take some bananas to him.” \nRina happily skips to her grandpa’s house with the bananas in hand. \nSuddenly, thud!“Ouch!” \nRina picks herself up off the ground and looks around. There are piles of trash on both sides of the road. \n“Wow, all this trash is what made me fall,”Rina says. \nShe sees a dog walking through the trash and eating it. It is really gross! \nA hen shakes its leg, trying to remove a plastic bag that’s stuck to it. It is really sad to see . \nPlop. Plop. Rina hears the water squelch as villagers try to walk across the trash filled stream . \nRina finally arrives at her grandpa’s house. He is making fertilizer from compost. \n“Rina, what happened to you?!” Grandpa asks, shocked. \n“I slipped on a plastic bag and fell. The bananas I brought for you all got squished!”Rina explains. \n“That’s okay,” Grandpa says, “I can use the bananas for my compost.” \n“Why is there so much garbage on the streets?” Rina asks her grandpa. \n“People don’t know the effects of garbage,”Grandpa explains.“Plastics pollute the water, the soil, and the air. It takes hundreds of years for plastic to break down . Even after all that time, there will still be tiny pieces of plastic polluting the soil and water.”","cbCain9nYlD2lEZc","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCain9nYlD2lEZc","pdf",3790837,6,20,"English","en",105,"# Trash Garden\n## Rina's Journey\n## The Impact of Trash\n## Grandpa's Wisdom","[{\"question\":\"What problem does Rina encounter on her way to her grandpa's house?\",\"answer\":\"Rina encounters piles of trash on both sides of the road, which causes her to trip and fall.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the trash affect the animals in the village?\",\"answer\":\"The trash affects the animals by entangling a hen in a plastic bag and causing a dog to eat from the garbage.\"},{\"question\":\"What does Rina's grandpa explain about plastic garbage?\",\"answer\":\"Grandpa explains that plastics pollute the water, soil, and air, and take hundreds of years to break down, leaving tiny polluting pieces behind.\"},{\"question\":\"What does Rina's grandpa do with the squished bananas?\",\"answer\":\"Grandpa says he can use the squished bananas for his compost.\"}]",1783683384,31,{"code":4,"msg":30,"data":31},"ok",{"site_id":24,"language":23,"slug":32,"title":13,"keywords":33,"description":14,"schema_data":34,"social_meta":90,"head_meta":92,"extra_data":94,"updated_unix":27},"trash-garden","",{"@graph":35,"@context":89},[36,53,68],{"@type":37,"itemListElement":38},"BreadcrumbList",[39,43,47,50],{"item":40,"name":41,"@type":42,"position":11},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":44,"name":45,"@type":42,"position":46},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":48,"name":12,"@type":42,"position":49},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/story-novel/",3,{"item":51,"name":13,"@type":42,"position":52},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/trash-garden/56000/",4,{"url":51,"name":13,"@type":54,"author":55,"headline":13,"publisher":57,"fileFormat":60,"inLanguage":23,"description":14,"dateModified":61,"datePublished":62,"encodingFormat":60,"isAccessibleForFree":63,"interactionStatistic":64},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":56},"Person",{"url":40,"name":58,"@type":59},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-07-24","2026-07-10",true,{"@type":65,"interactionType":66,"userInteractionCount":20},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":67},"ViewAction",{"@type":69,"mainEntity":70},"FAQPage",[71,77,81,85],{"name":72,"@type":73,"acceptedAnswer":74},"What problem does Rina encounter on her way to her grandpa's house?","Question",{"text":75,"@type":76},"Rina encounters piles of trash on both sides of the road, which causes her to trip and fall.","Answer",{"name":78,"@type":73,"acceptedAnswer":79},"How does the trash affect the animals in the village?",{"text":80,"@type":76},"The trash affects the animals by entangling a hen in a plastic bag and causing a dog to eat from the garbage.",{"name":82,"@type":73,"acceptedAnswer":83},"What does Rina's grandpa explain about plastic garbage?",{"text":84,"@type":76},"Grandpa explains that plastics pollute the water, soil, and air, and take hundreds of years to break down, leaving tiny polluting pieces behind.",{"name":86,"@type":73,"acceptedAnswer":87},"What does Rina's grandpa do with the squished bananas?",{"text":88,"@type":76},"Grandpa says he can use the squished bananas for his compost.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":51,"og:type":91,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":58,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":93,"canonical":51},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":24},{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":96},[97,100,104,108,113,117,122,127,131,134,138],{"id":11,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":12,"show_sort_weight":98,"slug":99},90,"story-novel",{"id":46,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":101,"show_sort_weight":102,"slug":103},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":52,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":105,"show_sort_weight":106,"slug":107},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":109,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":110,"show_sort_weight":111,"slug":112},5,"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":20,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":114,"show_sort_weight":115,"slug":116},"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":118,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":119,"show_sort_weight":120,"slug":121},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":123,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":124,"show_sort_weight":125,"slug":126},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":128,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":129,"show_sort_weight":21,"slug":130},9,"Religion & Spirituality","religion-spirituality",{"id":21,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":132,"show_sort_weight":21,"slug":133},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":135,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":136,"show_sort_weight":135,"slug":137},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":139,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":140,"show_sort_weight":109,"slug":141},19,"General","general"]
