growing beliefthat the infrastructure is inefficient and this adds tothe direct cost of health care.Without reform,by theend of this decade health care cost will double.It isestimated that the cost of health care will beapproximately $14,000 per family.  \nThe President's Health Care Reform Task Force,headed by Hillary Rodman Clinton,proposes the6llowing  \n1.Security-Americans must know that health earecoverage is available for all United StatesCitizens despite preexisting conditions.  \n2.Continuity-Maintenance of the best of thecurrent system plus the addition of newconditions.  \n5.Simplicity·Decreasing the paper work forphysicians,hospitals,and insurance companiesand decreasing the health care bureaucracy.  \nComputerization represents a new era in thecommunication of information and the evaluation ofhealth care.The Task Force envisions a health caremodel in which providers are linked to each other,topayers and to government through sharedinformation systems and a common medicalinformation database.The heart of the health caremodel will be the electronic or cmputerized patientrecord (CPR).The CPR will include claims payment,updated and shared patient record information,record patient histories and treatment patterns,nursing assessments,ete.Information will becollected at the point of service and can be sharedwith anyone having a legitimate need.For
