With a volume yield of 72% and a weighted average price of 1, 100–1,600 USD/t, the total value proposition is in the range of USD 50-80 bn. Please note that this is a conservative estimate based on a narrow definition of total annual plastic packaging volume. Applying a wider definition can increase the value proposition up to USD 170-190 bn. \n~70-90% \nRECYCLED TODAY¹ \nVALUE PROPOSITION* \n$ 70–150 BN \nWorldwide steel production is currently about 1,600 mln tonne annually. 70-90% recycling means ~ 1, 100- 1,450 mln tonne recycled and 160-480 mln tonne lost. Assuming ~90% yield in process with market price of ~500 USD/t equals USD 70-220 bn, so conservative range USD 70-150 bn \n~50-60% \nRECYCLED TODAY¹ \nVALUE PROPOSITION* \n$ 30–40 BN \n~80 % of produced paper is potentially recyclable, ~400 mln tonne annually x 80% = 320 mln t/a potentially recyclable paper in the market. Today, ~58 % or 230 mln t/a are recycled, means 90 mln tonnes are lost. If this is recovered and goes into the paper recycling process there will be between 10-30% fibre loss, assuming on average 20% . The value of newsprint paper is ~400- 600 USD/t, let´s assume 500 USD/t = ~90 mln t/a x 80% x 500 USD/t = USD36 bn \n* TOMRA ESTIMATES \n1) THE NEW PLASTICS ECONOMY, Ellen MacArthur foundation, 2017 \n2) Prices [from Statististica.com](from Statististica.com) \n7 \nCircular economy – redefining value creation \nProduction \nDistribution \nConsumption \nTOMRA COLLECTION SOLUTIONS \nAUTOMATED COLLECTION \nKERBSIDE COLLECTION \nTOMRA SORTING SOLUTIONS \nWASTE RECYCLING \nLOW QUALITY \nDown-cycling \nCOMMODITY \nCLEAN LOOP RECYCLING \n CLOSED LOOP RECYCLING \nData driven Data on collection \nlegal oversight volumes and \nrecycling \nIncineration \nLandfill \nBusiness case for plastics \nValue increase \n2.5-7x \n€1400 per ton Clear PP/PE \n€1000 per ton Clear PET \n€500 per ton Mixed PET \n€200 per ton Mixed Plastic \nDID YOU KNOW? \n• By 2050, a global population of 9.8 billion will require 70% more food than is consumed today \n• We are currently wasting 33% of global food production \n• The food industry accounts for around 10% of global GDP \n• Agriculture accounts for 20% of global greenhouse gas emissions \nSources: Wrap, WEF, Accenture (Future of Food), McKinsey \nNew ways of feeding a fast-growing DEMANDING population… \nTo ensure an efficient food production there is an increased need to… \nIncrease Yield \nReduce waste \n…AUTOMATE… \n…MONITO","cbCaiixxSQjhZrC9","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiixxSQjhZrC9","pdf",11585627,82,"English","# Investor Presentation\n## Company Overview and Positioning\n## Collection and Sorting Solutions\n## Circular Economy Ambition and Targets\n## Value Proposition by Material (Plastic Packaging, Steel, Paper)\n## Market and Industry Insights","[{\"question\":\"What solutions does TOMRA present in this investor deck?\",\"answer\":\"The deck highlights collection solutions and automated/kerbside collection, complemented by sorting solutions for waste recycling and other sorting applications like food, recycling, and mining.\"},{\"question\":\"What circular economy targets are stated for collected and closed-loop recycling?\",\"answer\":\"The ambition section lists targets of 40% collected for recycling and 30% for closed loop recycling, emphasizing reuse of good materials.\"},{\"question\":\"How is the value proposition for different materials estimated?\",\"answer\":\"The presentation estimates value ranges for plastic packaging, steel, and paper based on total production volumes, current recycling rates, assumed yield in processing, price assumptions, and the resulting lost material volumes.\"}]","TOMRA Systems ASA Investor Presentation - 2020 | PDF",1788564057,207]
