Know what each component is designed to test and make a study plan so you can maximize your score. \nDAY 1 \nMPT \nGeorgia Essays \nDAY 2 \nMBE \nThe MPT and Georgia Essays are administered on the first day of the exam and comprise 50% of the overall score. \nThe MBE is administered on the second day and comprises the remaining 50% of the score. \nMPT \n• Assesses your abilities to problem-solve, conduct legal analysis and reasoning, conduct factual analysis, communicate effectively in writing, organize and manage a legal task, and recognize and resolve ethical dilemmas through a closed-world problem where all the law and facts are provided to you. The deliverable for this assessment is a specific type of written document (e.g., a legal memo, brief, etc.) that will be specified within the MPT prompt. \n• Deliverable for this component is two written answers. \n• You may find more information about the MPT on the NCBE website here. \nGEORGIA ESSAYS \n• Assesses your abilities to identify legal issues, provide the relevant law that should be used to decide the issue in Georgia, select the relevant facts that should be examined to decide the issue, and clearly show your application of the legal rules to the set of facts given to reach a probable outcome. \n• Deliverable for this component is four essay answers. The Georgia Supreme Court has defined “essay” broadly to include any kind of short writing (including a memo or short performance task) . \n• Subject Areas:* \nBusiness Organizations \nContracts \nEvidence \nFederal Practice and Procedure Non-Monetary Remedies Property \nTrusts, Wills, and Estates \nConstitutional Law \nCriminal Law and Procedure \nFamily Law \nGeorgia Practice and Procedure Professional Ethics \nTorts \nUniform Commercial Code (Articles 2 and 3) \n*More than one subject area may be tested in each question. \nMBE \n• Assesses your ability to apply fundamental legal principles and legal reasoning to factual scenarios. \n• Subject Areas: \nCivil Procedure Constitutional Law \nContracts Criminal Law and Procedure \nEvidence Real Property \nTorts \n• You may find more information about the MBE on the NCBE website here. \nTIME MANAGEMENT \nTime management is a skill that is implicitly tested on every component of the bar exam. As with any skill, practicing and refining execution of how you manage your time will make you better able to answer as many questions as possible on exam day. If you have difficulties with time management and allocation for tasks, be sure to include in your bar preparation strategies on using your time efficiently and wisely. For the MBE, transfer your answers in batches from the booklet to the answer \nsheet. \nACTIVE LEARNING STRATEGIES \nActive learning strategies, including completing and assessing practice MPTs, multiple-choice questions (try to answer 200 MBE questions a day up through the weekend prior to the exam), andessays, should be the preferred types of strategies that you use when preparing for the bar exam.
