He was happy to just look at all the new items.  \nThis day, as Timo and his mother passed one booth, he saw some new kick-balls. He looked at his mother with a pleading look.  \n\"Yes,\" said mother. \"You have been helping me in the garden. You may have that ball.\"  \nTimo was so happy. He could hardly wait to see his friends that afternoon.  \nWhen Timo heard his friends'voices, he grabbed the ball and ran outside.  \nHis mother called after him, \"Stay close to home. Supper will be ready soon.\"  \nWhat fun the boys had with the new ball. They kicked and chased after it until they were too tired to run any more.  \nWhen his friends went home, Timo decided to play a little longer. He began kicking the ball around the play area. He forgot about staying close to his house. Then one firm kick sent the ball rolling down a hill, and right into the stream. What was he going todo?  \nHis mother had told him to stay close.  \nAnd, she had told him to never go into the stream by himself.  \nTimo thought to himself, \"One time won't hurt. I'll grab the ball quickly and get right back out.\"  \nHowever, as Timo bent down to grab the ball, his foot slipped on a rock. Not only was he now all wet, but his leg was hurting badly.  \nHe had to crawl back up onto the grass.  \nTimo began to cry. He was by himself, he was all wet, and his leg hurt too much to walk home.  \nBesides that, no one knew where he was. If only he had obeyed his mother.  \nAfter what seemed like a very longtime to Timo, he heard his father calling.  \n\"I, I'm here,\" he yelled as loud as he could.
