It’s seen storms, sunny days, and even a few of my bad haircuts! (The kids giggle.) But do you know what makes it so strong?  \nMr. Sam: (chuckling) Not just that. It’s because its roots go deep. When the wind blows hard, the tree doesn’t fall over because it’s rooted firmly in the ground. It’s like us—when life gets tough, you need strong roots to keep you standing.  \nIs it because it’s so big?  \nMr. Leo: (leaning forward) Roots are like the things you learn and the people who love you. Your family, your friends, and the values you hold onto—kindness, honesty, and courage. Those are your roots. The stronger they are, the taller you can grow.  \nMr. Henry: (nodding) That’s right. I remember when I was your age, I used to get upset when things didn’t go my way. But my grandpa told me,“Henry, life is like a tree. Sometimes you lose a branch, but if your roots are strong, you’ll grow a new one.”  \nWhat are roots?  \nMr. Sam: (smiling) Oh, plenty of times! I once failed a big test at school. I felt like giving up, but my teacher told me,“Sam, failing doesn’t mean you’re a failure. It just means you’relearning.” And you know what? She was right. I kept trying, and eventually, I did better.  \nMr. Leo: (pointing to the tree) See those leaves up there? They change colors and fall off every year, but the tree doesn’t worry. It knows new leaves will grow in the spring. Life is like that too. Even when things seem hard or sad, better days are always coming.  \nMr. Henry: (grinning) Exactly! Grow strong roots, stand tall, and don’t be afraid of losing a few branches. And remember, just like this oak tree, you’re never alone. You’ve got your family, your friends, and all of us old folks cheering you on.  \nDid you ever lose a branch?  \nSo   we should be like the tree?  \nThe Kids: (cheerfully) Thanks, Mr. Henry, Mr. Sam, and Mr.  \nLeo!  \nMr. Sam: (winking) And if you ever forget, just come back to this bench.
