It was certainly aided by its front cover appearing on the popular cable TV program Ancient Aliens, aired and later re-aired on the History Channel. For years I had researched various clues and rumors, facts and informed speculation regarding an alleged extraterrestrial spaceship crash landing just outside my original hometown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in the spring of 1941. I had more than enough data for a full-length book, but within the text, I made at least one major mistake: I decided to guesstimate the timing of the crash as April 12, 1941.
