ofexistence. This magazine first appeared as a bi-weekly in January,1903.According to the prospectus carried on the inside front cover of Volume \nI,Number 1,each issue was to contain a single article of “permanentvalue, entire or in part,on some question of the day.\"In 1915 theCATHOLIC MIND adopted the practice of publishing several articles inone issue. Then in January,1943,the editors decided that the aimsand purposes of the CATHOLIC MIND could best be served by convertingit into a monthly. This change,to quote the editors'remarks to ourreaders of those days, brought the periodical “into the style of the'Digest'publications,\"though it was not to become a\"Digest”monthly. \nWith the present issue the CATHOLIC MIND enters a new phase.Hence-forth it will appear as a bi-monthly with one-third again as many pagesas before. Its more avid fans(we like to think there are many)mayfeel disappointed that the CATHOLIC MIND is now to reach its audiencebut six times a year.To such readers we can only say that the decisionto convert to bi-monthly publication was not taken without careful de-liberation.Furthermore,arrangements have been made to extend currentsubscriptions depending on the length of time they have to run. \nThis conversion,we are convinced, will in no way detract from theusefulness of the CATHOLIC MIND.Its articles will continue to be chosenfor their permanent value. It will continue to be one of the few handyand convenient sources of papal documentation and episcopal statements. Our increase in size will enable us to offer a greater variety of articlesin each individual issue. Finally,we trust that our new cover will makethe CATHOLIC MIND a more attracti","cbCaigecgJjzOt6H","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaigecgJjzOt6H","pdf",4091923,100,"English","# The
