Jesus teaches a large lakeside crowd, describing seeds that fall on the path, rocky ground, and thorn bushes, each with a different outcome, and seeds that land in good soil producing 30, 60, or even 100 times more grain. Jesus later explains the seed as God’s word and the soil as responses to hearing it.","33. So many people came to hear him that Jesus got into a boat at the edge of the water in order to have enough space to speak to them . He sat in the boat and taught the people . \nJesus told this story.“A farmer went out to plant some seed. As he was spreading the seeds by hand, some seeds happened to fall on the path, and the birds came and ate all of those seeds .” \n“Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where there was very little soil. The seeds in the rocky ground sprouted quickly, but their roots were not able to go deep into the soil. When the sun came up and it got hot, the plants withered and died.” \n“Still other seeds fell among thorn bushes . Those seeds began to grow, but the thorns choked them out. So the plants that grew from the seeds in the thorny ground did not produce any grain .” \n“Other seeds fell into good soil. These seeds grew up and produced 30, 60, or even 100 times as much grain as the seed that had been planted. He who has ears, let him hear!” \nThis story confused the disciples . So Jesus explained,“The seed is the word of God. The path is a person who hears God’s word, but does not understand it, and the devil takes the word away from him .”","cbCaimze7r5dxyUj","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaimze7r5dxyUj","pdf",261511,5,15,"English","en",105,"# Jesus Teaches by the Lake\n## The Parable of the Sower\n## Jesus’ Explanation of the Parable","[{\"question\":\"Where is the story of the farmer’s seeds found in the Bible?\",\"answer\":\"It is drawn from Matthew 13:1-8, 18-23; Mark 4:1-8, 13-20; and Luke 8:4-15.\"},{\"question\":\"What happens to the seeds that fall on the path, rocky ground, and thorn bushes?\",\"answer\":\"Seeds on the path are eaten by birds; seeds on rocky ground sprout quickly but wither in the heat; seeds among thorn bushes are choked out and produce no grain.\"},{\"question\":\"How does Jesus explain the meaning of the seed and the soil?\",\"answer\":\"Jesus explains that the seed is the word of God, the path is a person who hears but does not understand, and the devil takes the word away.\"}]","The Story of the Farmer | PDF",1784132287,23,{"code":4,"msg":31,"data":32},"ok",{"site_id":24,"language":23,"slug":33,"title":13,"keywords":34,"description":14,"schema_data":35,"social_meta":87,"head_meta":89,"extra_data":91,"updated_unix":28},"the-story-of-the-farmer","",{"@graph":36,"@context":86},[37,54,69],{"@type":38,"itemListElement":39},"BreadcrumbList",[40,44,48,51],{"item":41,"name":42,"@type":43,"position":11},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":45,"name":46,"@type":43,"position":47},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":49,"name":12,"@type":43,"position":50},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/story-novel/",3,{"item":52,"name":13,"@type":43,"position":53},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/the-story-of-the-farmer/81051/",4,{"url":52,"name":13,"@type":55,"author":56,"headline":13,"publisher":58,"fileFormat":61,"inLanguage":23,"description":14,"dateModified":62,"datePublished":63,"encodingFormat":61,"isAccessibleForFree":64,"interactionStatistic":65},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":57},"Person",{"url":41,"name":59,"@type":60},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-07-29","2026-07-15",true,{"@type":66,"interactionType":67,"userInteractionCount":20},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":68},"ViewAction",{"@type":70,"mainEntity":71},"FAQPage",[72,78,82],{"name":73,"@type":74,"acceptedAnswer":75},"Where is the story of the farmer’s seeds found in the Bible?","Question",{"text":76,"@type":77},"It is drawn from Matthew 13:1-8, 18-23; Mark 4:1-8, 13-20; and Luke 8:4-15.","Answer",{"name":79,"@type":74,"acceptedAnswer":80},"What happens to the seeds that fall on the path, rocky ground, and thorn bushes?",{"text":81,"@type":77},"Seeds on the path are eaten by birds; seeds on rocky ground sprout quickly but wither in the heat; seeds among thorn bushes are choked out and produce no grain.",{"name":83,"@type":74,"acceptedAnswer":84},"How does Jesus explain the meaning of the seed and the soil?",{"text":85,"@type":77},"Jesus explains that the seed is the word of God, the path is a person who hears but does not understand, and the devil takes the word away.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":52,"og:type":88,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":59,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":90,"canonical":52},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":24},{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":93},[94,97,101,105,109,114,119,124,129,132,136],{"id":11,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":12,"show_sort_weight":95,"slug":96},90,"story-novel",{"id":47,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":98,"show_sort_weight":99,"slug":100},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":53,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":102,"show_sort_weight":103,"slug":104},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":20,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":106,"show_sort_weight":107,"slug":108},"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":110,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":111,"show_sort_weight":112,"slug":113},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":115,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":116,"show_sort_weight":117,"slug":118},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":120,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":121,"show_sort_weight":122,"slug":123},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":125,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":126,"show_sort_weight":127,"slug":128},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":127,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":130,"show_sort_weight":127,"slug":131},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":133,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":134,"show_sort_weight":133,"slug":135},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":137,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":46,"category_name":138,"show_sort_weight":20,"slug":139},19,"General","general"]
