It had come to rest, unnoticed, between the inner edge of a row of pews and one of the needlepoint kneeling cushions. He enjoyed teaching the little ones about the scriptures, but he sometimes found their boisterousness tiring and their attention span somewhat frustrating. He enjoyed these few quiet moments at the end of the day to unwind in the peaceful silence of the church.  \nHe flicked through the book, stopping every now and then.
