The text follows the dialogue about God’s command, the moment the couple eat the forbidden fruit, and the consequences that follow: awareness of being naked, hiding from God, and the pronouncements of judgment. Short lessons then guide shared discussion questions and simple word-find activities focused on reading practice.","Reader 2: The snake deceived the woman \nand the man \nLearn to read book \nEnglish Spiritual \nCopyright © 2011, Glenys Waters and Christina Levisen \n[http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/) \nYou may not use this work for commercial purposes. He said to the woman, \"Did God really \nsay you must not eat from any tree in the garden?\" \nThe woman said to Snake,“We may eat fruit from the trees of the garden, but not the fruit from the tree which is in the middle of the garden . God said, ‘You shall not eat of it, you shall not touch it, or you will die .’ ” \nSnake said to the woman,“You won’t really die . God knows that when you eat it, your eyes \nwill be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” \nWhen the woman saw that the tree was good for food, lovely to look at, and it was able to make her wise, she took some of its fruit, andate . Then she gave some to her husband with her, and he ate it too . Then their eyes were opened, and they knew that they were naked. \nSo they sewed fig leaves together, and made coverings for themselves . Then they heard the sound of God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from him . \nGod called to the man, and said to him,“Where are you?” The man said,“I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; so I hid myself.” \nGod said,“Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” \nThe man said,“The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” \nGod said to the woman,“What have you done?” The woman said,“The snake deceived me, and I ate .” \nGod said to the snake,“Because you have done this, \nyou are cursed above all livestock, and above every animal of the field. \nFrom now on, you will go on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life . I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel. \" \nTo the woman he said,“I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. You will bear children in pain . \nYour desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you .” \nTo Adam he said,“Because you didn't do as I commanded, and listened to your wife instead of me, you will work hard to get enough \nfood from the ground. You will have to work hard all the days of your life until you return to the ground. \nGod made garments of animal skins for Adam and his wife and clothed them . Then he sent them out from the garden of Eden to work the ground so they could not eat fruit from the tree of life. He placed angels at the entrance \nwith flaming swords to guard the way to the tree of life. \nLesson 1 \n Did God really say that? \nNow Snake was more crafty than any of the wild animals God had made.
