Cho and colleagues (2013) identified three dimensions of intersectional dialogues: how intersectionality has been used in research and teaching, how it has been used as a theory and methodology, and how it has been used in community organizations. As Cho and colleagues noted, what intersectionality does in theory is equally as important as what it does in practice. Therefore, we drew from the recently published Handbook of Research on Teachers ofColor and Indigenous Teachers to highlight how intersectionality research has captured the beliefs, perspectives, retention, and recruitment of TOCIT. We begin by summarizing critical contributions from \nthe Handbook and other recent research highlighting intersectionality in understanding and diversifying the teaching workforce. We then integrate policy impacts and implications and provide a case exemplar of how intersectionality can be thoughtfully integrated into the existing scholarship and practices to recruit and retain TOCIT. \nPalabras-clave: interseccionalidad; retención; reclutamiento; fuerza de trabajo diversa; Maestros de Color y Maestros Indígenas \nO papel da interseccionalidade na pesquisa sobre Professores de Cor e Professores Indígenas \nResumo: Este artigo enfatiza a complexidade e a criticidade da ","cbCaiiENwixSSFzw","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiiENwixSSFzw","pdf",338231,16,"English","# Abstract\n## Intersectional dialogues and dimensions\n## Handbook contributions and related research\n## Policy impacts and implications\n## Case exemplar for recruitment and retention","[{\"question\":\"What role does intersectionality play in research on Teachers of Color and Indigenous Teachers?\",\"answer\":\"The article argues that intersectionality is critical for understanding the complexity of research on TOCIT and for connecting theory to practical outcomes in scholarship and practice.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the paper structure its discussion of intersectionality research?\",\"answer\":\"It summarizes key contributions from the Handbook and other recent research first, then integrates policy impacts and implications, and finally provides a case exemplar for thoughtful integration into existing work.\"},{\"question\":\"Which TOCIT outcomes does the paper highlight as captured by intersectionality research?\",\"answer\":\"It highlights beliefs, perspectives, retention, and recruitment of Teachers of Color and Indigenous Teachers.\"}]","The Role of Intersectionality in Research on Teachers of Color and Indigenous Teachers - Special Issue - September 24, 2024 | PDF",1792094363]
