excitedwhen,as a Postulant,I had received the  \nHoly Habit.I had been more exhilarated when,as a Novice,I had made my First Profession.But this was different.More real and solemnand awesome,and calm and clear and deliberate.This was the final step,the completion.The bell rang out with the suddenness it alwayshas,no matter how long you have been waitingfor it,and the singing rose through the stillmountain air,as the procession went into the Chapel.  \n5  \nThe Postulan's were received,and even the thrillof hearing their new names,and watching the glowon their happy faces did not impress candles and blossoms,snowy linens and sunlight,I had pronounced myFirst Vows.(They had been final,even then,as far as I was concerned.)\"For the honor  \nof Almighty God and under the protection of theBlessed Virgin Mary,and that of our holy Patron,Saint Joseph,I...make for one year the simple vowsof Poverty,Chastity,and Obedience....And I promisewith God’s grace,to observe them faithfully.”
