From grief and longing to acceptance, loneliness, and surreal longing, the selections use lyric themes and even music videos to illuminate Cam’s inner world, Nina’s presence, Viv’s second-chance feelings, and the parallel worlds at the heart of the narrative’s title and ending.","THE OFFICIAL THROUGH TO YOU PLAYLIST \nBy Emily Hainsworth \n1. “Gloomy Sunday” by Billie Holiday or Sarah McLachlan \nWhen I first started writing this book,“Gloomy Sunday” was just the song I needed to get inside Cam’s head. It captures perfectly where he is and everything he’s feeling at the beginning of the story. \n2. “I Know” by Trespassers William \nIf I had to pick one song to represent every emotion that Through to You attempts to deal with, this would be it. The longing of loss, the difficulty of letting go, the process of acceptance—but most of all, this song acknowledges the hole left behind once someone you love is gone. \n3. “Haunted” by Charlotte Martin \nThis song is like an epic acknowledgment of how once someone’s gone, you still look for them everywhere; you realize how much you’re not coping; and no matter how much, or where, you look for them, it feels like they’re everywhere and nowhere at the same time. \n4. “Irvine” by Kelly Clarkson \n“Irvine” takes a hard, gritty look at the feelings of loneliness and desperation when it seems like no one else in the world could possibly know what you’re going through. I feel very much like this is a place Cam is in before meeting Nina in the book. \n5. “Different Stars” by Trespassers William \nThe entire album Different Stars works as a soundtrack for the book, but the title track in particular hit home for me once I started to realize the similarities and differences between the two worlds in Through to You. \n6. “Walking with a Ghost” by Tegan and Sara \nThis is a fun song that helped me address the surreal feelings Cam had to deal with after he saw Nina’s ghostly image for the first time, and also how he must have felt once he knew she was real and that she came from a parallel world just like his own. \n7. “I See Right Through to You” by DJ Encore with Engelina \nIt might be obvious that this is where the title of the book comes from, but the video from this 2001 dance hit actually did alot to inspire the story. Considering that it basically features a rave held in a library, that might be hard to believe, but if you look carefully you may recognize some key imagery that brought Cam, Nina, and their parallel worlds to life. \n8. “Feel It in My Bones” by Tiesto with Tegan and Sara \nFor me, this song is all about the rush of reclaiming someone who was lost to you. Suddenly they’re there again, and all you can do is be swept away and give yourself over to them entirely—because honestly, after glimpsing into the darkest, loneliest places in your heart without them, who wouldn’t? \n9. “Mad About You” by Hooverphonic \nCam may be the narrator of the story, but this song is all about Viv. If he’s elated to find her alive again, she’s head over heels to have a second chance with him, and this song expresses the way she feels about him. \n10.“Misery Business” by Paramore \nTwo girls, one guy, two ways everything could play out . . . what more can I say? \n11.“Toxic” by Hard-Fi \nI love every rendition of this song I’ve ever heard, but this one seemed best suited to the story as everything about Nina, Viv, and the two dimensions starts to become clear to Cam. \n12.“What of Me” by Trespassers William \nI couldn’t have written the end of the book without this song. It’s all about Viv, \nthe place she and Cam ultimately come to, and the choices they’ve each made to get there. \n13.“Closure” by Emm Gryner \nA perfect little melody to match the note the book ends on. \n[www.epicreads.com](www.epicreads.com)","cbCaidcAZ0RK9jzu","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidcAZ0RK9jzu","pdf",452924,1,"English","en",105,"# The Official Through To You Playlist\n## Gloomy Sunday -
