Later, the lion is trapped in a net of ropes, and although frightened, the mouse keeps its promise by gnawing a hole in the net. The story concludes that even small friends can be great allies, highlighting gratitude, courage, and mutual help.","English Traditional Story \nA5-The Lion and the Mouse \nA Fable by Aesop Illustrated by Gail McIntosh \nBloom book layout by SIL-PNG Education for Life \nThis book is also available as a 'Talking Book'. The mouse accidently ran across the paw of a sleeping lion. |\n\nThe angry lion awoke and captured the mouse in his great, big, furry paws. \nThe lion was just about to eat the mouse when the tiny creature cried out,“Please set me free. One day I will return your kindness.” \nSo the lion released the mouse. \n\n| A little while later, the mouse heard what sounded like angry roars. The mouse followed the sounds and discovered the lion trapped in a net made of ropes. |\n| --- |\n| |\n| Though frightened, the mouse was determined to keep his promise. |\n\nUsing his sharp teeth, the mouse made a hole in the net. And so the great lion was set free by the little mouse. \nFriends who are little in size can still be great friends. \nCopyright © 2021, SIL-PNG Education for Life \n[http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/)[ ](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/)[You may not use this work for commercial purposes.
