As oppression spreads—draining grain, culture, and wealth—the people revolt, but resistance is met with violence. TrungTrac and TrungNhi, trained in martial arts for independence, plan revolution with ThiSach until he is killed. Refusing mourning, they mobilize forces, gain support, and lead attacks to reclaim the country’s freedom.","The Legend of Vietnam’s Heroes-the \nTrung Sisters Vu Thi Kim Ha \nA long time ago, over 2,000 years in the past, Vietnam was an independent nation. \nBack then, it was called Nambiet. \nThe Han Dynasty of China attacked and conquered Nambiet. It divided Nambiet into three counties. It trampled on the traditional culture of Nambiet, destroying its traditional drums made of brass . It took the elephant tusks and pearls that were precious to the Nambiet people. It even took the grain Nambiet produced. \nThe people became poor and miserable. \nOne of the three counties of Nambiet was called GiaoChi. The Han Dynasty sent a man named ToDinh to rule over GiaoChi. ToDinh was greedy and cruel, and the people hated him. \nThe people rose up in revolt. At first, GiaoChi’s uprising succeeded, and the people recovered their grain and avoided starvation. But then, ToDinh raised an army to capture and punish those who resisted him. \nAt that time, there lived a man named LacTuong who owned a large area of land in Meringhyun. \nHe had pretty twin daughters, named TrungTrac and TrungNhi. \nAlthough they were young, the sisters had always been very smart and good at martial arts, \nwhich they learned with the intention of regaining their country’s independence. \nThey grew up to become beautiful, imposing young women, and received the respect and love of the people. \nIn the nearby town of Quizian lived a man named ThiSach. \nThiSach was the son of a commander. He was wise and proficient in martial arts. \nIn time, ThiSach met one of the sisters, TrungTrac, They fell in love and were married. The couple’s main interest was regaining their country’s independence, which had been taken from them. They gathered people secretly, and planned a massive revolution. \nThe people supported their leadership. However, the plan was discovered by ToDinh. ThiSach was caught by ToDinh. ToDinh threatened to kill ThiSach if they didn’t stop their rebellion. \nBut the people of Nambiet did not give in, and ToDinh killed ThiSach. \nTrungTrac and TrungNhi were shocked to hear the news that ThiSach was dead. TrungNhi cried out.”Sister, let us avenge him! \n” \nTrungTrac clenched her teeth, held back her tears, and said,”Yes, let’s continue the plans that we made with ThiSach! We must drive the enemy out of our country so my husband will feel at ease in heaven.” \nOne of her people asked,”My Lady, ThiSach has died; should we wear mourning clothes? \n” \nBut TrungTrac said,”No! We need suits of armor . Getting our country back must come first. We will show our strength to the enemy. \n” \nShe took off her mourning clothes and put on a suit of armor . \nWith the support of a remarkable woman \nnamed Le Trun, the sisters prepared for war . \nTrungTrac led the people of Nambiet. She persuaded the people who were afraid. She built an army, and their numbers grew larger and stronger. \nThe Trung sisters climbed up on an elephant and moved to the front. \nBuu…buu…buu… \nThe sound of a horn rang out loud all over the country. \nThis was the signal for the Nambiet army to attack. \nThe Trung sisters attacked Rue Lao castle, which was occupied by ToDinh. The castle fell to their army, as did 65 castles stolen by the","cbCaihizPd84Ahfi","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihizPd84Ahfi","pdf",655349,22,"English","en",105,"# The Han Conquest of Nambiet\n## ToDinh’s Cruel Rule\n# ThiSach and the Planned Revolution\n## Betrayal and Death\n# Vengeance and Preparation for War\n## Building an Army and Gaining Support\n# The Attack Signal and the First Major Assault","[{\"question\":\"Why did the Trung sisters choose to stop mourning and prepare for war?\",\"answer\":\"After ThiSach was killed, TrungTrac refused mourning clothes because regaining independence had to come first.
