As the world changed : when crowns divided our island, when technology gave voices to the youth and when screens became weapons — I began to wonder : Why was silence disguise as self respect so deeply rooted in us ?  \nThis book is my answer told not as a legend but as lesson.  \nThrough the goddess Fetu'utai and the King Takumasiva, I give shape to the forces that have shaped us. It is not only a story of islanders but of every place where silence has been mistaken for respect and where voices struggle to rise. From its depths rose two islands sisters born of coral and volcanic fire . Wallis, gentle and green stretched her lagoons like arms of welcome .  \nFutuna, proud and mountainous lifted her peaks to challenge the sky.  \nThe people said : \"They are twins, bound by the veins of coral beneath the waves . What one suffers, the other feels . \"  \nUpon Wallis, a mad King ruled —Takumasiva . His voice was deep, his gaze stern . He believed harmony was fragile like a woven mat that could unravel with one careless word. One evening, as the villagers gathered around for Kava, Takumasiva spoke : \"People remember this : words are arrows . Once released, they cannot return . Better to endure in silence than to wound with speech. \"  \nThe villagers bowed their heads . None dared to challenge the power and fear .  \nThat night, the moon shone brighter than ever . From the sea rose Fetu'utai goddess of the weak. Her hair flowed like waves, her eyes burned with justice . She walked upon the shore of Wallis, her footsteps leaving trails of foam .  \nShe called out to Takumasiva : \"King of Wallis, I'm sending you a warning. Let your people speak their pain, their joy, their truth openly. For silence is a prison and voices are the wings of freedom\"  \nThe King frowned. \"Voices bring disorder . They stir rebellion . My people shall endure without complaint. Respect is born of silence\"  \nFetu'utai's eyes flashed like lightning. \"You mistake fear for respect, human . You mistake silence for strength. If you reject my gift then learn your lesson the hard way\"  \nShe raised her hand and the waves roared. \"From this day, your descendants shall carry silence in their bones.
