Is Godtruly concerned about my life,my work,my strivings and my dreams,mylaughter and my tears?Does the God-Man,Christ,who did show suchconcern in Palestine 1900 years ago,does He stil1 live on this earth?Does He live in such a way that He does care about me,my family,myfel1 ow men--here and now and everywhere?  \nThe response of the Vatican council is a thundering affirmative!Witha ringing \"Yes!Christ does live,God does care about me,the ordi-nary man,doing ordinary work,in ordinary places,every moment ofevery day,anywhere in the wor1d!\"Everyone of us has been impressedand inspired by the opening sentence of the Pastora1 Constitution onthe Church in the Modern World of the Second Vatican Counci1:  \n\"The joys and the hopes,the griefs and the anxieties of the men ofthis age,especia11y those who are poor or are in any way afflicted,these are the joys and hopes,the griefs and anxieties of the fol¹owersof Christ\"  (Par。1).  \nSOCIAL ACTION DEPARTMENT  \nThe Cat.holic bishops of the Americas--North and South--joinedwith their brother bishops from a11 over the wor1d and with the HolyFather to constitute the Second Vatican Counci1.
