The study utilized qualitative and quantitative methods to gather and analyze student teachers'perspectives on using practicum \nportfolios for their professional development. The main focus was to \nunderstand the student teachers' stance on reflective teaching and \ntheir engagement in different stages ofthe reflective practice cycle. \nThe study involved 16 student teachers at Al-Quds University in \nPalestine. Data were collected through a questionnaire and semi \nstructured interviews. Results indicated that the portfolio helped student teachers assess their work and improved their ability to reflect on their practices. Before lesson planning, they wrote their reflections \nwith specific questions to help them articulate their plans. After the \nplanning, they continued to reflect on their experiences. The study \nidentified four stages of reflective practices that student teachers went through during their practical education courses: 1) pre-planning and post-reflection, 2) teaching, 3) reviewing and criticizing, and 4) \nreconstruction. Finally, the student teachers observed improvement in \ntheir practicum and teaching skills through portfolios. \nKeywords: practicum portfolio; reflective practices; student teachers; professional development. \nIntroduction \nThe portfolio is used in college teaching and practicum education to improve student teachers’ performance and the quality of their learning in general, enhance their capacity for selfreflection, and guide them in selecting best practices utilizing the portfolio and submitted for evaluation. The portfolio allows teachers and student teachers to document their efforts (Chien, 2013). It is an effective tool that provides a more inclusive or comprehensive vision of student teachers' progress (Khales, 2016a), helps develop the capacity of student teachers to think critically and analytically about their teaching practices (Jones, 2010), and encourages them to ask questions that would elicit detailed feedback or review (Carl & Strydom, 2017; Jimoyiannis, \n2012) . The use of the portfolio system has increased, as it is among the most advanced methods used to evaluate teachers' performance. The innovation reflects the results of a continuous review of the portfolio and provides an opp","cbCairR85s1I0JXP","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCairR85s1I0JXP","pdf",270856,17,"English","# Abstract\n# Introduction\n# Literature Review","[{\"question\":\"What was the aim of the study on practicum portfolios?\",\"answer\":\"The study aimed to investigate how using practicum portfolios impacts early childhood student teachers' reflective practice in Palestine.\"},{\"question\":\"How did the researchers collect data?\",\"answer\":\"Data were collected using a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews with 16 student teachers at Al-Quds University.\"},{\"question\":\"What did the study find about reflective practice stages?\",\"answer\":\"The study identified four stages of reflective practices: pre-planning and post-reflection, teaching, reviewing and criticizing, and reconstruction.\"}]","The Impact of Using Practicum Portfolio on Early Childhood Student Teachers' Reflective Practice - Article 1 | PDF",1792078870,43]
