meant to be?\"asked Oscar, pointing at it and giggling. \n\"I think it's Prince Harry,\"said Maya.\"Thoughit could be Ed Sheeran for all I know.\" \n\"This place is stupid,\"said Ella.“I told you weshould have gone to Costa instead.\" \nMaya sighed. The geography field trip had beena disaster so far. She'd been looking forward to \ntwo days in Lymford-on-Sea,hoping the freshair would make a nice change from her stuffyclassroom. But the weather had been awful. \nThere was no way they could have filled out theirworksheets in such heavy rain. \nIt was late November,so it was no surprise thatall the arcades and cafés on the seafront wereclosed.Mr Singh had led them up Broad Street, where the only places open were the coffee shopand the House of Wax waxwork museum. \nThe coffee shop was too small to fit them all in.A massive fight for the sofas would have brokenout,so they had piled into the museum instead. \nMaya followed her friends down the dingy \ncorridor to a dummy in a white football kit, witha scrawl of blue on its neck. \n\"That's so pathetic,\"said Ella. She prodded thefigure and it wobbled back and forth. \nOscar tapped a sign by its feet. \n“Apparently,this is Harry Kane,\"he said.“Looksnothing like him.\" \n\"Is that meant to be a tattoo on his neck?\"askedElla.\"I bet it used to be the David Beckham oneand they just changed the name.\" \nOscar sniggered, but Maya didn't feel likejoiningin. There was something about this place she \ndidn't like. The wax dummies were awful, but shefound them creepy rather than funny. Some ofthem looked like they were trying to speak. \nTheir eyes were weird too.It was like they werein pain. \nMaya could hear rain battering the roof.Shehoped it would stop soon so they could go downto the beach and start their projects. \nThey moved past a dummy of a thin old manwith straggly white hair and a long blackovercoat. It looked more convincing thanthe others, but Maya had no idea who it wassupposed to be,so she moved on. \nNext up was a display showing Henry the Eighthsurrounded by five women in bulky dresses. \n\"The six wives of Henry the Eighth,\"read Oscar;pointing to a sign beneath the figures.\"I thinkone of them must have got lost.\" \n\"She probably realised how stupid this place isand walked,\"said Ella. \nMaya heard a low shuffling behind her andturned around. \nShe gasped. The old man dummy was moving, its bony legs inching forwards. She flinched backas she imagined it grasping for her neck as itstared lifelessly ahead. \nIt smiled, and Maya realised it wasn't a dummyat all.It was an old man,no doubt the owner ofthe waxworks. She felt her breathing return tonormal.","cbCaimdSTXVfdrTk","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaimdSTXVfdrTk","pdf",1949406,54,"English","# The House of Wax\n## Chapter
