I had a conversation with Mark Allan Gunnells where he told me he felt queer authors were underrepresented in horror fiction . As we chatted, he felt he had come up against prejudice in the industry and although he struggled on and managed to get a solid body of work out there, ut hadn’t been easy. He also felt there weren’t enough LGBT characters in horror fiction as well.  \nWhile I didn’t think I could change the industry, I knew I could put adamn fine horror book together. I knew I could invite only authors who identify as LGBTQIA+, and I knew I could offer them the opportunity to write stories with characters that identified as such. That wasn’t mandatory to the story, but it was an option.  \nIt occurred to me upon setting out to do the book, I had no idea what most people identified as . I knew a load of authors, but I didn’t know how they identified. I asked Mark for a few author suggestions. I posted info about the book in some LGBT groups and some horror book groups. I rarely do this as my anthologies are invite only but as the author list grew, mor recommendations came to me .  \nThe book you hold in your hands is a compilation of my favourite stories that were sent in. That’s what the entire Horror Collection is comprised of. You will know some of the names in this book and others may be new to you, but I can guarantee one thing. Each of them is overflowing with talent.  \nI never thought this series would see 15 books, but you are holding the 15th right now. It’s a testament to the quality of the authors who send me their work and it has only continued thanks to the readers. As long as people keep following the series, I will keep it going.
