It is a narrative adapted and added to, with the copyright and credits for original authors and illustrators to be maintained. The development of this work was supported by a grant from the Canadian Embassy in Indonesia. The original book was authored by Eddy Supangkat, B.Sc., with contributions from Dr. Joost J.J. Pikkert, and illustrations by Slamet Prayitno. The story begins by introducing Yakob and his wife, a very poor couple who sometimes ate only once a day. A significant turning point occurs when Yakob receives a gosling from a grandfather in a dream, who advises him to take good care of it for prosperity. The next day, a gosling appears in their yard, which Yakob promptly catches and brings home. Yakob and his wife nurture the gosling, and one day it lays a golden egg. Overjoyed, they decide to sell the egg to purchase necessities, which their money readily provides, improving their living conditions.","The Goose Who Laid Golden Eggs \nEnglish Story Book \nCopyright © 1994, SIL International \nYou may not use this work for commercial purposes.
