Then God called Moses to come further up the mountain.  \nMoses was on Mount Sinai for forty days and forty nights. During that time God gave Moses many instructions for worship.  \nHe told Moses how to build and furnish a sacred tent, and how the priests should serve the Lord and what clothes they should wear. He also gave instructions for how to offer daily sacrifices and for resting on the seventh day of the week.  \nWhen the Lord finished speaking to Moses, he gave him two stone tablets with the Ten Commandments engraved on the front and back. The tablets were the work of God. God himself wrote the words on the stone tablets!  \nMeanwhile, at the camp, the Israelites wondered why Moses did not return. They said to Aaron, \"We do not know what happened to Moses. So make us some gods who can lead us. \"  \nSo Aaron said,“Bring me gold earrings from your wives, sons, and daughters.” All the people did this.
