And while the new narrative of Thanksgiving fits the Godless agenda of this age, it does not portray this famous Thanksgiving in the manner that the eyewitnesses did. It is more logical to believe primary sources than what a person in 2020 or beyond (400+ years removed) says about these events. \nIn creating this resource, I have done my research and found some of these firsthand accounts as well as read books in which the historians found and recounted dairy entries from eyewitnesses. Theresources I primarily used are as follows. I would encourage you to investigate the truth for yourself if you struggle with this famous Thanksgiving. King Henry VIII wanted to break free from Rome, so he allowed the Bible to be translated into English. England finally had its own translation of the Bible, and that meant the people could read it for themselves. This became a huge problem for the king, though, for when the people read it, there was a big difference between what it said and what the king said. The king, and those on the throne that followed him, persecuted the Pilgrims and the Puritans, another group that wanted to purify or cleanse the church. Neither of these groups followed England’s rules and laws for reading the Bible, worshiping, or prayer. \nBecause they were caught holding a secret worship service in Engl","cbCaichVoA5alawA","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaichVoA5alawA","pdf",2789055,16,"English","# Table of Contents\n## More Thanksgiving Resources\n## The First Thanksgiving Resources\n## The Famous Thanksgiving read aloud\n## The Pilgrim’s Journey Map\n## Thanksgiving: True or False?\n## Thanksgiving Vocabulary Card Matching\n## Thanksgiving Word Bank\n## All About The Pilgrims graphic organizer\n## All About The Pilgrims writing page\n## What’s for Dinner?","[{\"question\":\"What learning activities are included in this Thanksgiving literacy unit?\",\"answer\":\"The unit provides comprehension coloring, vocabulary card matching, a word bank, a true-or-false task, a Pilgrim’s Journey map, and graphic organizer and writing pages.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the unit describe the timeline of the Pilgrims before Thanksgiving?\",\"answer\":\"It summarizes the English religious context in the 1500s, the Pilgrims’ move to Holland, their attempt to travel to Virginia, and the Mayflower voyage culminating in Cape Cod.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the focus of the “Thanksgiving: True or False?” activity?\",\"answer\":\"Readers color the boxes that show statements considered true based on the unit’s retelling of the famous Thanksgiving story.\"}]","The Famous Thanksgiving Literacy Unit - Downloadable activities | PDF",1792673269]
