effect of the Court's deci-sion and are condueting a misleading propa-ganda to obtain its reeonsideration andreversal.Their eampaign,of eourse,is notexpeeted to bring a reversal,unless per-chanee they should obtain possession of thepower which appoints the members of theCourt.Failing to obtain a reversal fromthe Court,they hope to discredit theAmendment and lessen the chances of itssueeessful enforeement.  \nOne of the features of this propagandais a series of pamphlets mailed to lawyers,eontaining articles under such headings as,\"Points for the Reconsideration of theEighteenth Amendment,\"\"The EighteenthAmendment Is Void,\"ete.These pamphletsare signed by a Committee of one hun-dred New York lawyers,many of whomundoubtedly have not studied the subjeetintensively and do not know the legal qual-ity of the arguments for which they beeomespon8ors.Many of them probably do notknow that the Supreme Court has settledadversely every point of any plausibilityraised therein,and that the elaim that anyof these points are new matter and worthyof serious eonsideration,is merely the effortof propagandists to mislead the legal pro-fession and through it the general publie,  \nA cireular letter aceompanying one of thesepamphlets say8:  \nNew York lawyers represent at least75%of the legal inteliligence of theUnited States.Very probably,the per-centage is greater than the figure given;so when New York lawyers through theirbar asoeiations formally go on recordand express an opinion on a question oflaw,that opinion is eertainly worthy ofthe most serious eonsideration.  \nThis modest elaim on behalfof New Yorklawyers is followed by a statement of the\"opinion\",namely,that the EighteenthAmendment is\"in derogation of the lib-erties of the citizens and the rights ofthe States as guaranteed by the frst tenamendments.”This legal opinion is quotedfrom a resolution adopted at a meeting ofThe Association of the Bar of the City ofNew York,at which 96members voted
