A survey of 674 respondents in Sweden used the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument, grounded in the Competing Values Framework, distinguishing clan, adhocracy, market, and bureaucracy cultures. Results show that internal-focus cultures are positively associated with compliance, while control and flexibility differences matter less. Bureaucratic culture is identified as especially effective for fostering compliance.","cbCaijJpiHrvE4QO","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaijJpiHrvE4QO","pdf",440061,1,20,"English","en","# Introduction\n## Information security as a strategic and operational issue\n## Employees as the first line of defense\n## Research motivation and individual-related factors\n# Research purpose and approach\n## Survey design and sample\n## Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument and Competing Values Framework\n# Findings\n## Internal-focus cultures and compliance\n## Effects of control and flexibility\n## Bureaucratic culture as most fruitful\n# Implications\n## Research limitations and future investigation\n## Practical implications for organizations","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the study on perceived organizational culture and information security compliance?\",\"answer\":\"The study examines the relationship between different perceived organizational cultures and information security policy compliance among white-collar workers.\"},{\"question\":\"How was information security policy compliance measured in the research?\",\"answer\":\"Compliance was assessed using a survey sent to white-collar workers in Sweden, asking about adherence to information security policies.\"},{\"question\":\"Which organizational culture type was found to be most effective for improving compliance?\",\"answer\":\"The analysis indicates that a bureaucratic form of organizational culture is most fruitful for fostering employees’ information security policy compliance.\"}]",1780693542,50,{"code":4,"msg":28,"data":29},"ok",{"site_id":30,"language":22,"slug":31,"title":13,"keywords":32,"description":14,"schema_data":33,"social_meta":85,"head_meta":87,"extra_data":89,"updated_unix":25},105,"the-effect-of-perceived-organizational-culture-on-employees-information-security-compliance","",{"@graph":34,"@context":84},[35,52,67],{"@type":36,"itemListElement":37},"BreadcrumbList",[38,42,46,49],{"item":39,"name":40,"@type":41,"position":19},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":43,"name":44,"@type":41,"position":45},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":47,"name":12,"@type":41,"position":48},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/research-report/",3,{"item":50,"name":13,"@type":41,"position":51},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/the-effect-of-perceived-organizational-culture-on-employees-information-security-compliance/32065/",4,{"url":50,"name":13,"@type":53,"author":54,"headline":13,"publisher":56,"fileFormat":59,"description":14,"dateModified":60,"datePublished":61,"encodingFormat":59,"isAccessibleForFree":62,"interactionStatistic":63},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":55},"Person",{"url":39,"name":57,"@type":58},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-06-11","2026-06-05",true,{"@type":64,"interactionType":65,"userInteractionCount":11},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":66},"ViewAction",{"@type":68,"mainEntity":69},"FAQPage",[70,76,80],{"name":71,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":73},"What is the purpose of the study on perceived organizational culture and information security compliance?","Question",{"text":74,"@type":75},"The study examines the relationship between different perceived organizational cultures and information security policy compliance among white-collar workers.","Answer",{"name":77,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":78},"How was information security policy compliance measured in the research?",{"text":79,"@type":75},"Compliance was assessed using a survey sent to white-collar workers in Sweden, asking about adherence to information security policies.",{"name":81,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":82},"Which organizational culture type was found to be most effective for improving compliance?",{"text":83,"@type":75},"The analysis indicates that a bureaucratic form of organizational culture is most fruitful for fostering employees’ information security policy compliance.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":50,"og:type":86,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":57,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":88,"canonical":50},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":30}]
