ECHOING  \nWHISPERS  \nINTRODUCTION  \nThe Chapel of Contemplation had a shady history that only a few had heard of, and with the increasing presence of Walter Corbitt, something deep beneath the chapel has awoken. After the incident at the Corbitt House, residents began to report strange figures wandering at night, and people started to go missing at the same time. Uncovering the truth behind the haunted house was only the beginning. Now, it’s up to the investigators to find out what is really going on.  \nTHE ECHOING WHISPERS picks up the story where THE HAUNTING from the Call of Cthulhu Quickstart leaves off, expanding it into a whole new cultic conspiracy that will spread across the world. This adventure is designed for up to six players and aims to be completed in one session, though it may take longer depending on the actions of the gaming group.  \nIn the following titles, you will find informative notes for game running, character creation, and summary of what happened in THE HAUNTING that will lead the story to THE ECHOING WHISPERS.  \nWhat Happened in “the Haunting”  \nIn The Haunting, the investigators took on a case involving a haunted mansion connected to strange accidents, madness, and deaths. They discovered that the mansion once belonged to Mr. Walter Corbitt, who had ties to a perverse cult known as The Chapel of Contemplation. If they were observant or fortunate, they also uncovered that the Chapel was responsible for a large number of disappearances, and many of its members had either been released or managed to escape. Corbitt’s presence was discovered in the mansion’s basement, and his abominable existence was behind all the deaths and accidents.  \nThe activities of the Chapel were largely unknown, as all evidence disappeared with the responsible officers. However, investigators who were keen or lucky enough could find hints of a secret raid on the Chapel.  \nThe main hook in this adventure is the missing or released members of the Chapel. Some of them have returned to the town, and now they’re involved in something foul. It’s up to the investigators to uncover the hidden secrets of the Chapel, once and for all.  \nThe Echoing Whispers also serves as the starting point for a larger adventure. Suggested hooks are listed below, but feel free to add or shape the options for your and your players’ desire:  \n• Cold Case: A private investigator might be asked to chase a cold case that led them to the Chapel  \n• Missing Person Relative: A person who has a missing relative might get in contact with authorities that led them join the group  \n• Occult Curiosity: An occult researcher might heard of the Chapel and wanted to learn more about it  \n• Police Officer: According to the public reports, a cop might want to track down the strange events happening in the neighborhood/ town/city  \n• Responsible Neighbor: A civillian might want to solve the problem by themselves that crossed their path with others  \n• Ex Cult Member: An ex cult member who regrets what they did back in the days, and looking for redemption by helping the current problem  \nCharacters: Existing  \nExisting characters for the game could be in touch with law enforcements that led them into an important brieffing hosted by Detective Samuel “Sam” O’Connell. He will inform the group about the recent events. He doesn’t believe in weird stalkers wandering around, but he is definitely worried about missing people.  \nAs you can count this as a follow-up case, players might come up with new personal goals for their characters.  \nYou can use these optional situations to create new links, if you feel stuck at this point:  \n• Occult Invitation: University Professor and Auther might be invited to the cult by a mysterious letter.
