Thus, image-guided radiotherapy utilizes advanced imaging techniques and is a feasible strategy for increasing the radiation dose. New radioactive particles are another approach to achieving high doses and safe procedures. Prostate brachytherapy is currently considered as a combination therapy. Spacers are useful to protect adjacent organs, specifically the rectum, from excessive radiation exposure. \nKeywords: prostate cancer; radiation therapy; intensity-modulated radiation therapy; image-guided radiation therapy; volumetric modulated arc therapy; stereotactic body radiation therapy; brachytherapy; metastasis direct therapy; hydrogel spacer \n1. Introduction \nThe current trend in radiotherapy for patients with localized prostate cancer is characterized by the implementation of high-dose irradiation using advanced techniques to enable more precise targeting of the tumor while minimizing radiation exposure to adjacent organs, including the rectum, bladder, and urethra [1] . Radiotherapy is a conventional treatment option for localized prostate cancer, and management approaches vary depending on the patient's National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) risk [2,3] . \nAccording to previous trials, radical prostatectomy and external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) are similarly effective in terms of overall survival (OS), disease-specific survival (DSS), biochemical relapse-free survival (bRFS), and quality of life (QOL) for localized prostate cancer [4,5] . \nRadiotherapy may also be","cbCaihYY75vOhoxi","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihYY75vOhoxi","pdf",477012,"English","# Introduction\n# Radiotherapy for Each Risk of Localized Prostate Cancer\n## Low-Risk Prostate Cancer\n## Intermediate-Risk Prostate Cancer","[{\"question\":\"What is the main goal of current radiotherapy trends for localized prostate cancer?\",\"answer\":\"Current approaches aim to increase the radiation dose to the prostate while minimizing exposure and side effects in nearby organs, including the rectum, bladder, and urethra.\"},{\"question\":\"How does image-guided radiotherapy help treatment planning?\",\"answer\":\"It uses advanced imaging techniques to improve target precision, making dose escalation feasible while reducing radiation to adjacent tissues.\"},{\"question\":\"Why are spacers important in radiotherapy?\",\"answer\":\"Spacers protect organs at risk—particularly the rectum—from excessive radiation exposure during treatment.\"}]","The Current Trend of Radiation Therapy for Patients with Localized Prostate Cancer - Review | PDF",1790261004,48]
