It uses 25 items covering absent-minded slips and errors in perception, memory, and motor functioning, rated from 0 to 4 across response options. Scoring is performed by summing item ratings to obtain a total scale score from 0–100, with subscale scores for forgetfulness, distractibility, and false triggering. Scale scores relate to episodes of absent-mindedness in both laboratory tasks and real-world situations such as accidents and computer data loss.",{"@graph":69,"@context":122},[70,84,105],{"@type":71,"itemListElement":72},"BreadcrumbList",[73,77,79,82],{"item":74,"name":75,"@type":76,"position":8},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":78,"name":9,"@type":76,"position":14},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/",{"item":80,"name":35,"@type":76,"position":81},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/healthcare/",3,{"item":83,"name":65,"@type":76,"position":19},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/the-cognitive-assessment-questionnaire-scoring-the-scale/298313/",{"url":83,"name":65,"@type":85,"image":86,"author":91,"headline":65,"publisher":94,"fileFormat":97,"inLanguage":63,"description":67,"dateModified":98,"datePublished":99,"encodingFormat":97,"isAccessibleForFree":100,"interactionStatistic":101},"DigitalDocument",{"url":87,"@type":88,"width":89,"height":90},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/the-cognitive-assessment-questionnaire-scoring-the-scale/298313.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":92,"@type":93},"\tJames","Person",{"url":74,"name":95,"@type":96},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-23","2026-09-18",true,{"@type":102,"interactionType":103,"userInteractionCount":44},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":104},"ViewAction",{"@type":106,"mainEntity":107},"FAQPage",[108,114,118],{"name":109,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":111},"What is the purpose of the Cognitive Assessment Questionnaire?","Question",{"text":112,"@type":113},"It assesses how often cognitive failures such as absent-mindedness and perception, memory, and motor slips occur in everyday life over the past 6 months.","Answer",{"name":115,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":116},"How is the overall score calculated?",{"text":117,"@type":113},"Add up the ratings of the 25 individual items to produce a total score ranging from 0 to 100.",{"name":119,"@type":110,"acceptedAnswer":120},"What subscales does the questionnaire provide?",{"text":121,"@type":113},"Relevant items yield subscale scores for Forgetfulness, Distractibility, and False Triggering, each defined by specific item numbers.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":83,"og:type":124,"og:title":65,"og:site_name":95,"og:description":67},"article",{"robots":126,"canonical":83},"index,follow",{"doc_id":128,"site_id":62},298313,1790699286,{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":131},{"doc_id":128,"user_id":132,"nickname":92,"user_avatar":133,"doc_module":4,"category_id":34,"category_name":35,"doc_title":65,"doc_description":67,"doc_content":134,"file_id":135,"file_url":136,"file_type":137,"file_size":138,"view_count":44,"is_deleted":4,"is_public":8,"is_downloadable":8,"audit_status":8,"page_count":81,"language":139,"language_code":63,"site_id":62,"html_lang":63,"table_of_contents":140,"faqs":141,"seo_title":142,"seo_description":67,"update_tm":143,"read_time":39},2336474466412,"https://ap-avatar.wpscdn.com/davatar_155a257f0dc6eb9ab79c44ca47cae57d","The Cognitive Assessment Questionnaire \nThe following questions are about minor mistakes, which everyone makes from time to time, but some of which happen more often than others. (1982) to assess the frequency with which people experienced cognitive failures, such as absent-mindedness, in everyday life-slips and errors of perception, memory, and motor functioning. \nThe most straightforward way to score the scale is simply to add up the ratings ofthe 25 individual items, yielding a score from 0-100. \nScores on the scale predict episodes of absent-mindedness in both the laboratory and everyday life, including slow performance on focused attention tasks, traffic and work accidents, and forgetting to save one's data on the computer. \nA study by Rast et al. (2008) indicates that the CFQ items load on three different factors. \nAdding scores across the relevant items will yield subscale scores representing these dimensions of forgetfulness: \nForgetfulness (Items 1, 2, 5, 7, 17, 20, 22, and 23): \"a tendency to let go from one's mind something known or planned, for example, names, intentions, appointments, and words\" . \nDistractibility (Items 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 19, 21, and 25): \"mainly in social situations or interactions with other people such as being a","cbCaip4es0iiggkc","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaip4es0iiggkc","pdf",87509,"English","# Cognitive Assessment Questionnaire\n## Item Ratings (25 Questions)\n## Scoring the Scale\n## Subscales: Forgetfulness, Distractibility, False Triggering\n# References","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the Cognitive Assessment Questionnaire?\",\"answer\":\"It assesses how often cognitive failures such as absent-mindedness and perception, memory, and motor slips occur in everyday life over the past 6 months.\"},{\"question\":\"How is the overall score calculated?\",\"answer\":\"Add up the ratings of the 25 individual items to produce a total score ranging from 0 to 100.\"},{\"question\":\"What subscales does the questionnaire provide?\",\"answer\":\"Relevant items yield subscale scores for Forgetfulness, Distractibility, and False Triggering, each defined by specific item numbers.\"}]","The Cognitive Assessment Questionnaire - Scoring the Scale | PDF",1789754627]
