centuries to the time just after the Conquest in1066.It is a fascinating tale of nobles,law-keepers,soldiers,clerics,andpoliticians. \nLittle did the dignified aristocrats of Capernwray ever think their19th century mansion house on the banks of the River Keer would bethe centre of a world-wide evangelistic outreach for God.But timebrings strange changes, and the transformation of this Hall from anisolated, relatively unknown, mansion into a home where many people, young and old alike, have met with God,is one of the most remarkable. \nCapernwray Hall today is both a young people's Christian holidayconference centre and Bible School, and the world headquarters of theCapernwray Missionary Fellowship of Torchbearers.Young people fromGreat Britain, the Continent, and all over the world have been toCapernwray for the Conferences or the Bible School and today serveGod on every continent. \nThe Hall is set in attractive hilly parkland just south of England'sfamous lakes. From the tower, the countryside from the Penninesacross to Morecambe Bay.and the mountains of Westmorland can beseen. The railway town of Carnforth is four miles away, and six milesfurther on is the castle city of Lancaster. \nIT Is estimated about 3,000 people come to Capernwray Hall eachyear, many of them for the first time.Nowadays these visitors are notwelcomed by a butler and ushered into a hall draped with banners anddecorated with heraldry and armour. Nor do they see the familyportraits hanging on the wall at their side as they ascend the main stair-case.Although these features of bygone days have disappeared thereremain to be seen reminders of Capernwray's past such as the elaboratestained-glass window in the main hall, bearing the Marton family crest(illustrated inside the front cover),meticulously made wall friezes,fire-places,and other decorations and ornaments outside. \n外","cbCait64GIAVEc4x","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCait64GIAVEc4x","pdf",3385423,28,"English","# Introduction\n# The Way In\n# Who Lived There?\n# Where Did They Live?\n# The Chapel—Then and Now\n# Capernwray Today\n# Through the Year at Capernwray\n# \"Go Ye..\"","[{\"question\":\"What period does the introduction cover in THE CAPERNWRAY STORY?\",\"answer\":\"It traces the story from shortly after the Conquest in 1066 through to Capernwray Hall as it is today.\"},{\"question\":\"How did Capernwray Hall change over time, according to the introduction?\",\"answer\":\"It shifted from a dignified, relatively unknown mansion into a place where many people meet with God through conferences and Bible school.\"},{\"question\":\"What is Capernwray Hall’s purpose today?\",\"answer\":\"It functions as a young people’s Christian holiday conference centre and Bible School, and it serves as the world headquarters of the Capernwray Missionary Fellowship of Torchbearers.\"}]","THE CAPERNWRAY STORY - Introduction - THE STORY OF CAPERNWRAY HALL and the Marton family | PDF",43]
