light up and point out the way for travelers. It can be said that the present era is a time of darkness and non-believers.For Ukrainians there is a real need that they secureorientation, and have a guiding idea and principle so that do notfall because of attacks.During the present era so difficult for theentire world, and extremely difficult for Ukrainians and theirChurch, aid and guidance are to be found in the Ukrainian CatholoicPress. To a good and beneficial press belongs“THE ARK”.Bepatriots and apostles;spread out a good press among Ukrainiansin America. \nOne Church,One Faith \nhen organizing His Church upon earth,it was the desire of the Lord Jesus Christ that theFaith be kept and fostered in its entirety in oneness. From the very beginning of its institutionChrist provided for the safeguarding of this one Faith. He designated for it a Vicar in the personof Saint Peter the Apostle who as a shepherd guarding the flock was to care for the needs ofthe fazithful and take care of the treasure of the Holy Faith. In appointing Peter Christ said tohim:“...Thou art Peter:and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shallnot prevail against it.And I willgive to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatso-ever thou shalt bind upon the earth,it shall be bound also in heaven:and whatsoever thoushalt loose on earth,it shall be loosed also in heaven.\"(Matthew 16:18-19.)To all of Peter'ssuccessors, the Roman Pontifs, has been applicable.Through the ages circumstances havechanged and events transpired, but for over nineteen centuries, from the moment that Christestablished His Church, the truths of God which He taught have remained unchanged andunaltered in their pristine purity, for the Lord Jesus bestowed upon His Church an infallibleteaching authority. \nThis fact was not unknown to the Church Fathers of the East and with deeds they gaveevidence of this. For over a thousand years, the bishops of the Eastern Churches turned forguidance in disputable matters to the Roman Popes. As long as they maintained this unity withthe Catholic Church,so long did they maintain the purity of the Holy Faith in their churches. \nThe Vicars of Christ, the Roman Pontiffs, protected the Faith from the attacks of variousheresies. If not directly then through the medium of the Ecumenical Councils did they do this. They themselves called together these councils or permitted others to do this. They conductedthese councils in person or through personal delegates. And,they, themselves, ratified thedecisions of the councils. \nMore than once was there an attack against the Church, attacks which threatened the unityof the Faith. In the First Ecumenical Council of Nicea(325)during the pontificate of Pope St.Sylvester I it was necessary to protect the Faith against the heresy of Arius in which the divinityof Jesus Christ was denied.Again,at the Second Ecumenical Council at Constantinople(381)itwas found necessary to convict Macedonius who denied the divinity of the Holy Ghost. At theThird Ecumenical Council of Ephesu","cbCaidQeobz4Avm8","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidQeobz4Avm8","pdf",1862450,24,"English","# One Church, One
