of a nation is a long known adagewhich is applicable to every nation, including those ofUkrainian birth or descent. It is especially important toUkrainians who are scattered about the world, scattered inthe United States—in eighteen states—and separated fromgroup and group by hundreds of miles.A successful means ofbinding the people into religious and national unity is theUkrainian Catholic Press which has these publications:TheWay,The Ark,Missionary. Our Bishop Ordinary invites allthe Clergy and Faithful to bear in mind the importance of ourpress,to support it,and to spread out its use. \n# LITURGY---KEY TO UNITY\n\nHE Liturgy has ever been a powerful force in promoting theunity of all Catholics. At its daily celebration—no matter whetherit be on the far-flung islands of the South Pacific,in the barrendesert areas,in the busy cities of the world,or in the peacefulvillages and countryside—it joins together all peoples with thepriest in one prayer. And this prayer is offered to the one trueGod,Christ,Whom all Christians of East and West worship. \nAs the word\"liturgy\"means public worship,or,the publicservice of God,we fittingly use it in reference to the unbloody Sacrifice whichour Savior established at the Last Supper and which our priests offer round theworld. \nDuring this month the members of the Catholic Faith observe Church UnityOctave and pray for the intention that all Christians be returned to the true Churchof Christ.Among the brethren disunited and for whom we pray are the millionswhom we call Dissidents or Orthodox, millions who are very close to their Cath-olic brethren in dogma, sacraments, manner of worship, church language, liturgicalmusic, but who are not in one with the Holy Mother Church.Besides, devotingour supplication this month for their enlightenment,we should fulfill at all timeswhat Pope Pius XI suggested. He taught us that in order that there be churchunity it is imperative that there be mutual knowledge of one another and therebe love for one another. \nIt is necessary that the Catholics of the East and the West know each otherbetter. To this day there frequently occur instances wherein Catholics erringlystate and believe that Catholicism and the Latin rite are synonymous.Participa-tion of Latin rite Catholics in Eastern rites'Liturgies is an excellent manner ofpromoting greater understanding of the Holy Mass as a whole,of obtaining a widerknowledge of the Liturgy as celebrated by other rites, and of recognizing thebeauty of other rites and their closeness to the Church as it was in the times ofChrist's Apostles.Enlightenment of this kind kindles respect and love towardthose who practice these rites.Fully cognizant of this fact, the great MissionaryPope fervently requested that seminarians of the Latin rite study the Easternrites and their Liturgies. \nMutual knowledge and charity, procured through the participation in theLiturgy, provide excellent examples to our dissident brethren. They cannot helpbut observe that Catholics of different rites can be united and not be subject toun","cbCaiuup40ywIVW5","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiuup40ywIVW5","pdf",1365172,"English","# CONTENTS\n##
