JSS is funded by the U.S. Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP)—empowering teachers, mentors, and community members to engage students in designing, building, and racing model solar cars. Senior Solar Sprint is administered by the Technology Student Association. JSS targets fifth through eighth grade students, and Senior Solar Sprint targets ninth through twelfth grade students. \nTEAMS is a STEM competition providing students in middle school and high school the opportunity to discover engineering. Students work together in teams and use practical applications of math and science to answer engineering questions concerning everyday, real-world challenges. \nUnite is a four-to-six week program held at colleges and universities across the country during the summer and funded by AEOP. Unite encourages underserved and/or underrepresented high school students to pursue STEM higher education and careers. \nVEX Robotics is an engaging robotics competition in which students further their knowledge and skills in STEM areas. This competition is a collaborative effort ofTSA and the Robotics Education and Competition (REC) Foundation, Inc. \n“TSA is an opportunity for students to participate in a chapter built around their interest in STEM and to compete in events that incorporate STEM principles and ideas. TSA provides a voice in a national organization that is helping shape the future of technology education.” \n“Of all the things I’ve done over the years to promote technology education, becoming a TSA advisor by far has had the most impact on my students and my professional development. I highly recommend being an active part of a student organization that’s dedicated to furthering the principles of leadership, teamwork, and responsibility.” \n“By incorporating the components ofTSA competitions into my lesson plans or using the events as culminating activities, I’m able to capture the imagination of my students and keep them engaged.” \nTechnology Student Association \n1904 Association Drive • Reston, VA 20191-1540 Phone: 703.860.9000 • Toll Free: 888.860.9010 [E-mail: general@tsaweb.org](E-mail: general@tsaweb.org) \nSupporting Teachers. \nInspiring Students. \nTechnology Student Association \n“Learning to Lead in a Technical World” \n[TSAweb.org](TSAweb.org) \nABOUT TSA \nThe Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national career and technical student organization (CTSO) of students engaged in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). TSA’s intracurricular program includes competitions and leadership activities. As a student organization of 300,000 middle and highschool technology and engineering students, TSA provides its members the opportunity to explore a wide variety of STEM career interest areas. All TSA competitions—more than 70 middle and highschool events combined—are correlated with national STEM standards to enhance STEM curriculum. Since 1978, more than four million students have participated in TSA. \n\n| Mission |\n| --- |\n| The Technology Student Association enhances personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in STEM, whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intracurricular activities, competitions, and related programs. |\n| Curriculum Integration |\n\nEducation directives atthe federal and state levels focus on providing avenues for initiatives such as STEM education. As a CTSO, TSA helps teachers meet the criteria for STEM education goals through innovative programs that include activities, competitions, leadership, and teamwork for students. Teacher advisors can use TSA’s activities during the school day in their classroom and extend the learning beyond the classroom through aTSA chapter. \nTSA Chapter A","cbCaikAheOyNcct1","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaikAheOyNcct1","pdf",722353,"English","# ABOUT TSA\n## TSA Mission\n# TSA Chapter Advisors\n## Benefits for Chapter Advisors\n# TSA Competitions\n## Competition Levels and Opportunities","[{\"question\":\"What is TSA and who does it serve?\",\"answer\":\"TSA is a national career and technical student organization for students engaged in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
