Its editorial aim is to rethink older worldviews through transdisciplinary collaboration, with emphasis on artificial life, nanotechnology, mixed reality ecologies, telematic media, and post-biological cultures. The issue frames contemporary debates with questions about what it means to be human and challenges simplifying binary categorizations in philosophy, science, and art.","Technoetic Arts \nVolume 20 Numbers 1 & 2 \nSpecial Issue:‘Dismantling the Anthropocene: Beyond Binary Categorizations’ \nTechnoeticArts: A Journal of Speculative Research \nVolume 20 Numbers 1 & 2 2022 \nFounding Editor \nRoy Ascott \nThe Planetary Collegium, UK [roy.ascott@btinternet.com](roy.ascott@btinternet.com) \nGuest Editor \nMonika Michałowska \nMedical University of Łódź \n[monika.michalowska@umed.lodz.pl](monika.michalowska@umed.lodz.pl) \nEditorial Organism \n[editors@technoeticartsjournal.org](editors@technoeticartsjournal.org) \nTom Ascott \nThe Royal United Services Institute, UK \nJohn Bardakos \nAthens School of Fine Arts, Greece \nDalila Honorato \nIonian University, Greece \nHu Yong \nBeihang University, China \nClaudia Jacques \nKnowledge Art Studios, USA \nClaudia Westermann \nXi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, China \nProduction Manager \nFaith Newcombe \n[faith@intellectbooks.com](faith@intellectbooks.com) \nPlease see inside back cover for Board details. \nAims and Scope \nTechnoetic Arts aims to provide a forum for the presentation of new ideas, projects and practices arising from the confluence of art, science, technology and consciousness research. It has a special interest in matters of mind and the extension of the senses through technologies of cognition and perception. It will document accounts of transdisciplinary research, collaboration and innovation in the design, theory and production of new systems and structures for life in the twenty-first century, while inviting a re-evaluation of older worldviews, esoteric knowledge and arcane cultural practices. Artificial life, the promise of nanotechnology, the ecology of mixed reality environments, the reach of telematic media, and the effect generally of a post-biological culture on human values and identity, are issues central to the journal’s focus. It welcomes speculative and anticipatory approaches to research, and the unorthodox expression of ideas whenever the topic justifies such innovation. It aims to communicate to an international non-specialist readership. \nTechnoetic Arts is published three times a year by Intellect, The Mill, Parnall Road, Bristol, BS16 3JG, UK. The current subscription rates are £44/$78 (personal), £223/$347 (institutional – online only) and £267/$425 (institutional – print and online) . Prices include UK/US postage.
