It is a good game for developing quick recall of tables facts as well as strategic thinking. \nAge range: 2nd Grade+ \nNumber of players: 2-3 \nLearning: Multiplication to 5x5, strategic thinking You will need \n- Each player will need 10 counters of their own color. \n- 2 small counters for the 0-5 grids. \nInstructions \n• The first player to start places one of the smaller counters on each of the mini 0-5 gridsat the top. The first player then multiplies the two digits together. If the first player is correct, they may place one of their counters to cover up the answer on the board. \n• The second player now moves each of the mini-counters one place along the lines to two new numbers. If the second player wishes to leave a mini-counter (or both minicounters) in the same position, then they can. The second player then multiplies the two digits together. If they are correct, they may place one of their counters to cover up the answer on the board. \n• Play continues until a player manages to cover up 4 counters in a row. \n• If a player cannot go, or gets an answer wrong, then play passes to the next player. \n• The first player that covers up 4 in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) is the winner! \nVariations \n• Play the game for a set amount of time. Each time a player makes 3 counters in a row, they may remove one of their opponent’s counters from the board. The winner is the player with the most counters on the board at the end of the time. \n• A player must move both the mini-counters on their turn. \n| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |\n\n1 \n2 \n3 \n0 \n1 \n\n| 12 | 10 | 5 | 8 | 2 | 0 |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| 15 | 4 | 12 | 3 | 1 | 9 |\n| 6 | 20 | 8 | 16 | 5 | 10 |\n| 25 | 9 | 6 | 2 | 20 | 12 |\n| 0 | 6 | 16 | 4 | 15 | 1 |\n| 12 | 10 | 20 | 9 | 25 | 8 |","cbCaiqoFqCJq6hBj","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiqoFqCJq6hBj","pdf",217933,"English","# Instructions\n## Variations","[{\"question\":\"What math skills does Tables Cover Up help develop?\",\"answer\":\"It practices multiplication to the 5x5 grid, helping players recall tables facts quickly while also building strategic thinking.\"},{\"question\":\"How does a player cover an answer during their turn?\",\"answer\":\"Players multiply the two digits shown by the mini counters, and if the answer is correct they place one of their counters to cover the matching board answer.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the winning condition in the main game?\",\"answer\":\"The first player to cover 4 counters in a row wins, counting horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines.\"}]","Tables Cover Up - Multiplication Tables Game - Cover Answers Up to 5x5 | PDF",1792669588]
