Would you like to play?  \ny name is Zack, and as we delve into 2024, I am your President  \nM  \nof Sutekh – Board Game and Tabletop Society. Which is still a wild thing to say, not only for how much I cherish this society—I have been an executive and trivia host1 for the past two years, and you may have spotted me at any number of weekly events—but for the name as well! I was there for the latest name change and submitted my own suggestion of Sydney University Tabletop and Esoteric Knowledge Hoard,2 a backronym which was not used but which I hope you will find echoes of in the depths ofthis semester’s Zweihander.  \nAgoal for this year is to try to keep up the improvements and innovations to our old and new events/resources that we saw in 2023. To highlight a few: the formation of CRITS3, the emergence of the RPG and Wargaming subcommittees’events and campaigns, an award-winning publication, game-developer centred events, and the brilliant West Marches campaign which culminated in the quelling of the second sun in a volcanic battle of Jurassic proportions on the continent of Masaka456. My favourites have always been our weekly events though, especially Friday Pizza and Games. Even if the venue changed a few times last year, location is relative and space fickle.
