The specialists can help provide care prior to transport to a burn centre, or provide advice to prevent transport of the  \npatient and guide care atthe referring site to reduce patient/family travel.  \nTo participate in Teleburn, referring sites must have:  \n• telemedicine-enabled clinical area (e. g. emergency department)– with a peripheral handheld camera, if possible (not mandatory);  \n• knowledge of the referral protocol and patient eligibility criteria; and  \n• ability to clinically present via telemedicine.  \nPatient criteria for referral to Sunnybrook’s Teleburn Program:  \n• teenagers, adults and the elderly  \n• burn injuries including:  \no electrical burns  \no chemical burns  \no suspected Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) / Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN)  \no frost bite  \no third degree burns  \nThe Ross Tilley Burn Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is the consulting burn centre for the Teleburn Program.
