In June, teens can make a scratch art bookmark, while supplies last. In July, teens can make Pokémon-themed origami. During both months, other activities, such as sticker puzzles, Sudoku, coloring sheets,  \nword searches, etc. will be located throughout the teen area, as well as on our cool summer teen display!  \nLarge Games & Activities  \nThroughout the summer, there will be a variety of large games and fun activities for kids to enjoy on the children’s side of the library!  \nColoring Contest:  \nFor three weeks this summer, JCPL will be holding coloring contests! There will be two age groups:  \nAges 5-9 and Ages 10-13. Coloring pages will be available on Mondays at the beginning of each contest week at the circulation desk. Kids must color in the page entirely. You may submit one entry per child, per contest. Winners will be contacted on the following Monday. Be sure to put your child’s name, age, and phone number on the back of the page.  \nWeek One (June 2 – June 6): Entries must be turned in by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 6.  \nWeek Two (June 30 – July 5): Entries must be turned in by 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 5.  \n(Since the library will be closed on July 4 the contest will be extended an extra day.)  \nWeek Three (July 14 – July 18): Entries must be turned in by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 18.  \nSuper Start: Summer Reading Kick-off Party  \nCalling all superheroes of all ages! Library Town needs super readers for the summer and needs your help. Drop by the Community Room on Monday, June 2 from 4-6 p.m. to celebrate the kick-off of our summer reading program and start your training for our Superhero Reading League. Go through super hero training by choosing your name and power, practice your poses, complete feats of physical strength and agility, and make a hero mask bookmark. The mayor of Library Town will give you an official Summer Reading Tracker sheet to help you get started reading for the summer. There will also be grab-and-go super snacks available to take before you begin your summer of Super Hero Reading!  \nCalling all superheroes and readers! Join JCPL on a reading adventure for all ages, June 2-July 19! Pick upa reading log on June 2 and color in a bubble for each 10 minutes that you read this summer. On the back of the sheet, complete at least one hero task for your superhero reading league training. With both  \nsides complete, turn in your form at the library’s front desk to receive an entry for prizes and a badge for the hero task you completed (try to collect all 6) . Kids ages 0-12 will also receive a free book for each reading log they complete and will have a chance to win a bicycle, a 3D-Pen, a remote-control robot, and more! Teens and adults will have a chance to win prize baskets. You may complete as many forms as you would like. All forms must be turned in by 1 p.m. on July 19. The Jump Rope Warrior, Inc.’s David Fisher will be performing on Thursday, June 5 at 3:30-4:15 p.m. and 5:30-6:15 p.m. at the Jay Community Center.
