Part 2 – 100 Minute FACT FLUENCY: Begins August 1 and is completed by September 6. \nDear Parents of Students Going into 2nd-4th Grade, \nCongratulations! You and your children have completed the 2021-22 school year. Yay! \nEach year, we have our students do some math in the summer season. Research shows that most students lose 2-3 months of grade-level math over the summer if they do not review. That is why we have a summer math program. \nThere are two parts to this summer work: Part 1 (MATH) and Part 2 (100 Minute FACT FLUENCY) . Individual usernames and passwords for MobyMax have been given to your child in school and are attached to the paper version of this letter being sent home. \nPlease see the information below to learn how the program works. \nPART 1 – MATH: Begins June 13 and is completed by July 28. \nWhen ALL 8 lessons are completed, you will see a screen like this: \nPart 2 – 100 Minute FACT FLUENCY: Begins August 1 and is completed by September 6. \nStudents will also complete 100 minutes of fact practice with MobyMax – FACT FLUENCY. \nWe recommend that students complete this time over a series of small sessions. Students who“mastered” all of the facts (all of the boxes would be shaded-see below) will continue to practice for improved speed until they reach 100 minutes. \nTo see the amount of time the student has completed, sign in to the student account AS A PARENT, using the student credentials. Click on Fact Fluency. \nSince summer math is required, students who complete the requirements will receive a summer math grade. \n• Completed summer math work = A 100% \n• 80 points for all 8 MATH lessons completed (10 points per lesson) \n• 20 points for 100 minutes of FACT FLUENCY practice (1 point per 5 minutes) \nSome FAQs are listed below. If you have any further questions, please contact either Bernadette Gilmore or Christy Koense. We welcome your feedback. Thank you so much for your dedication to learning. Enjoy your summer! \nSincerely, \nChristy Koense Bernadette Gilmore Michelle Robinson \nHead of Lower School Director of Academic Innovation LS Math Curr. Coordinator \nFAQs \n• How does s/he login? \nGo to [https://www.mobymax.com/signin](https://www.mobymax.com/signin. Select)[. Select](https://www.mobymax.com/signin. Select) STUDENT and enter THE INDEPENDENCE SCHOOL. Select the school and then enter the username and password. \n• Can I see what my child has done? \nOn the login page, you can use the same username and password as your child to access the parent information. To do so, click As a Parent- \nPart 1-MATH \nSee below. \nPart 2-100 Minute Fact Fluency \nSee below. \n• How can I help my child learn math facts that are difficult for him/her? \nWhen there are math facts that your child has not yet mastered, write those down. Pick just two or three facts to practice each week when offline. More than that at one time can be too much. \nIntersperse the practice with non-math work or play, and don’t forget to make it fun. Here is a site for non-flashcard math fact games. \n[https://www.pccsk12.com/home/showpublisheddocument/1957/635735249855500000](https://www.pccsk12.com/home/showpublisheddocument/1957/635735249855500000) \n• If I have questions, who do I call? \nIf you are experiencing difficulty that is technical or is an issue with the site, please contact MobyMax. If you have questions regarding the assignments or about your child’s progress, please call the school and talk with Mrs. Koense or Mrs. Gilmore.","cbCais2OWOvIm9ha","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCais2OWOvIm9ha","pdf",998279,"English","# Program Overview\n## Part 1 - MATH (June 13 - July 28)\n## Part 2 - 100 Minute Fact Fluency (August 1 - September 6)\n# Parent Access and Progress Tracking\n## Completion and Grade Criteria\n# FAQs and Support","[{\"question\":\"How does a student or parent login to MobyMax?\",\"answer\":\"Use the provided username and password.
