Bell","","Poems by Jorge H.-Aigla presented in a collection titled Sublunary, framed by an introduction from Charles G. Bell. The introduction argues that the opening poem’s unpunctuated title is a clue to the book’s transitory, lunar sphere of experience and to the “Red Way” rubric. It situates Aigla’s formation in Mexico and California, his medical and pathology training, his shift to writing, teaching, and long engagement with karate-do, then outlines how the poems move through childhood, coroner-like apologies, religion, and teaching.",{"@graph":14,"@context":73},[15,34,56],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/literature/","Literature",3,{"item":32,"name":10,"@type":21,"position":33},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/sublunary-poems-by-jorge-h-aigla-introduction-by-charles-g-bell/422448/",4,{"url":32,"name":10,"@type":35,"image":36,"author":41,"headline":10,"publisher":44,"fileFormat":47,"inLanguage":8,"description":12,"dateModified":48,"datePublished":49,"encodingFormat":47,"isAccessibleForFree":50,"interactionStatistic":51},"DigitalDocument",{"url":37,"@type":38,"width":39,"height":40},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/sublunary-poems-by-jorge-h-aigla-introduction-by-charles-g-bell/422448.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":42,"@type":43},"Damian","Person",{"url":19,"name":45,"@type":46},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-30","2026-09-28",true,{"@type":52,"interactionType":53,"userInteractionCount":55},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":54},"ViewAction",8,{"@type":57,"mainEntity":58},"FAQPage",[59,65,69],{"name":60,"@type":61,"acceptedAnswer":62},"What is the purpose of Charles G. \nYet the existential spareness of statement, the cutting edgewhich lures us,also challenges, cleaves, estranges asit draws—makes us ask what is the port-of-origin,the course and inten-tion of this unfamiliar vessel, its decks so stripped for action?Take the opening poem, surely placed there as a way-mark,aclue.Why is it titled only by the first one-word line,un-punctuated:\"Sublunary\"(on which a Medieval and theologi-callecture couldbe given)? Why?Unless the terseness of fusingtitle and first line in a syntax of apposition:\"Sublunary/awayfrom/God/and His/Action-at-a-distance/”(no dash sup-plied)\"frictionless bodies/are a myth…\"unless that knottingof the clue itself speaks the transitory brittleness of everythingunder the sphere of the moon,of this world as experienced.Ifthatis the skein succeeding poems will unravel—the Via Rubrathreading the labyrinth to“the source of crime”—no wonderwe are at once lured and baffled. \nSo we ask,who is the poet named (in Provencal)Eagle;whathas been(and is)his trajectory and will that help decipher thesomehow imperative rubric of the Red Way? \nJorge H.-Aigla was born in Mexico City in 1954.There he grewup and received (by the love and support of his mother)abasically European education through the public grades and aCatholic High School. In 1971 he began the study of medicineat the National Autonomous University, where he became oneof the leaders in the student movement. After a year he shiftedto St.Mary's College in California, taking the B.S.degree in1975.With that English base,he resumed his medical studiesat the University of California in San Francisco,1975-1979,concluding with a residency in pathology,1979-1980. \nMeanwhile he had been devouring poetry and fiction old andnew,English and Spanish—so much so that he swapped hismedical career for writing, waiting in a coffee shop for poets, and publishing poems and short stories in small-pressmagazines.The Coroner’s office however, tracked him downand badgered him into the detective work on bodies which ina way climaxes this first collection of poems. Then, from 1981to 1985 he taught, first science at City College of San Franciscoand thereafter in the Great Books program of St.Mary's. \nSo he came to St.John's College in Santa Fe,where he teaches(as is our way)almost everything in the demandi","cbCaivcpWR5f3spf","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaivcpWR5f3spf","pdf",1893535,"English","# Introduction\n## Poems\n### Contents (selection)\n## A Coroner's Apology I\n## A Coroner's Apology Ⅱ\n## The Power of the Word","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of Charles G.
