IN JAPAN \nfor \nINDIAN APPLICANTS \n——EMBASSY OFJAPAN IN INDIA—— \n# INVITATION TOSTUDY IN JAPAN \n\n## Introduction\n\nThe relationship between Japan and India has been developing appreciably in recent years.Besidesstrengthening of the economic ties, cooperative relations are progressing at the government level, whilemany exchanges are taking place at the private level. As two Asian democracies,Japan and India areimportant partners for mutual development. We believe that increasing people-to-people exchanges anddeepening mutual understanding will help us maintain this excellent relationship and elevate itto a higherlevel. \nIndia is the second largest country in terms of origin of foreign students around the world, with a largenumber of Indians studying across the globe. However, against this backdrop, only 0.3%of Indianstudents choose Japan as their destination of study, which ranks 20th in the list of preferred country tostudy abroad. This is relatively low, compared to other countries in South Asia, and countries whereEnglish is an official or semi-official language. We think this is because people in India may not be fullyaware of the attractiveness of Japan and the benefits of studying there,or they might have certainconcerns about the feasibility of studying in Japan. \nThis pamphlet is designed for people in India who are considering studying abroad to understand not onlyof the ways to study in Japan, but also of the following features of studying inJapan. \n·Japanese schools provide a good environment to study and conduct research \n·Japan is a safe country \n·Study expenses in Japan are reasonable \nAlthough this brochure may not be fully sufficient,it tries to focus on ways to provide useful informationrelated to studying in Japan. \nWe hope that many Indian students will study in Japan and eventually play an active role in India,Japan, and around the world. We are confident that this will lead to the advancement of broader understandingbetween the two countries and the enhancement of their friendly relations. \n## EDUCATION AND RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT OFJAPANESE SCHOOLS\n\nIn Japan, the national government specifies the minimumnumber of teachers, the area of the school buildings, andthe facilities and equipment that must be provided inaccordance with the number of students in each school. All schools provide the necessary environment forstudents to learn comfortably.Of course, most schoolshave facilities and equipment that exceed theseprescribed standards. In addition, each university providesvarious academic and social support to students, such asarranging housing, facilitating part-time jobs, andproviding career guidance aftergraduation. \nMost importantly,Japan is known as a safe country to live \nJapanese universities and research institutes have manyworld-class research facilities and equipment. For example,\"Fugaku\",the world's fastest supercomputer of RIKEN as ofNovember 2020,and“KAGRA”,the Kamioka Gravitationalwave detector,Large-scale Cryogenic Gravitational waveTelescope of the University of Tokyo, are both in Japan. If youstudy in Japan,it will be easier to do research using suchadvanced research facilities and equipment. Please look forfacilities that are useful for conducting research that can onlybe done in Japan and can facilitate more meaningful research. \nKAGRA(Kamioka Gravitational wave detector,Large-scale Cryogenic Gravitational wave Telescope)offered by The University of Tokyo \n## EDUCATION FEE\n\nThe cost of studying in Japan is not so expensive as compared to universities in the U.S.,the U.K.andAustralia.The total enrollment fee and tuition for Japanese undergraduate programs is approximately¥820,000(INR5,81,600)at national universities,¥930,000(INR6,59,600)at public universities,and¥1.1million(INR7,80,100)to¥1.64 million (INR11,63,100)at private universities(excluding medical, dentaland pharmaceutical schools). In addition, stable scholarship system and tuition exemption/reductionsystem will be available. \nPleas","cbCaig8SrrCUyUq0","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaig8SrrCUyUq0","pdf",6655607,12,"English","#
