Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires given to 30 IX-grade students at a junior high school. The research results show that the majority of students consider AnkiDroid a useful tool for improving vocabulary comprehension. Multimedia features, such as images and sound, were identified as the most helpful elements. Based on the results of this study, to maximize AnkiDroid’s influence, this study recommends enhancing app features, integrating it into school assignments, and increasing teacher involvement. This research highlights the need for stronger support and innovation in educational technology to optimize vocabulary learning outcomes.  \nKeywords: Ankidroid; Educational Technology; English Vocabulary; Student Perception INTRODUCTION  \nVocabulary comprehension is a fundamental aspect of language proficiency, significantly influencing reading comprehension, writing skills, and overall communicative influence. Without an adequate vocabulary, language learners may struggle to grasp the meaning of texts and express their ideas effectively (Fatmawati, 2022) . Jaya (2020) emphasizes that a strong vocabulary base enables individuals to  \ncomprehend written material more efficiently, facilitating the extraction of essential information and knowledge. Furthermore, Rahmah (2023) and Kartini and Kareviati (2021) argue that vocabulary mastery is essential for students to enhance their proficiency across all language skills.  \nEffective vocabulary learning should ideally be engaging and efficient, ensuring that students can easily acquire and retain new words. According to Nation (2001), interactive and context-based methods significantly enhance students' ability to apply vocabulary in various communicative contexts. Schmitt (2008) emphasizes that vocabulary instruction should not only focus on memorization but also on fostering students' motivation to expand their lexical knowledge continuously. Furthermore, Lai and Gu (2011) argue that integrating appropriate media and technology supports students in personalizing their learning experiences according to their individual learning styles and paces. Under optimal conditions, as Coxhead (2018) suggests, vocabulary acquisition gradually improves, leading to greater confidence in using English in both everyday conversations and academic settings.  \nHowever, in practice, students often face significant challenges in vocabulary acquisition. These barriers necessitate exploring more interactive and technology-driven approaches. Because of that, integrating tools like AnkiDroid into classroom instruction is considered a promising alternative to support students in engaging more deeply with vocabulary content. As schmitt (2010) highlights, many struggle with memorization due to traditional teaching methods that rely primarily on rote learning, which lacks contextual engagement. Such approaches can lead to boredom and hinder long-term retention (Laufer & Hulstijn, 2001). Furthermore, the limited use of interactive media often results in less effective vocabulary learning experiences (Godwin-Jones, 2018).
