The policy aims to guarantee due process and fair treatment for both students and instructional faculty members involved in such appeals. Detailed procedures for appealing a grade challenge decision are available in the CNU University Handbook on page 49. The form requires the student's name, contact information, major, CNU ID, the name of the person or committee who made the original decision, the course grade being challenged, the department, course number and name, semester and year, and the instructor's name. Students must state the grade they believe they earned and provide the basis for their challenge, attaching relevant evidence and documentation. This includes the Student Challenge of a Course Grade Form, evidence/documentation, a copy of the challenge decision, and any other supporting documents. The form must be signed and dated by the student, with an electronic signature being acceptable if submitted from a CNU email address. The completed form and attachments should be submitted to the Dean of the appropriate school, who will also record the submission date.
