At the bottom of the cli̜ there was a deep, fast, cold river, and the goats were way up high. Each goat wanted to cross from one side of the cli̜ to the other, and the only way todo it was to walk across a fallen tree that madea bridge. It was a very narrow bridge, so narrow that not even two tiny mice could walk next to each other on it.  \nEach goat got to one side of the bridge and looked across. On the other side each goat saw the other goat waiting to cross the bridge. Neither goat wanted to let the other goat go ̊rst, so they both started out  \nacross the narrow bridge.  \nEach goat walked slowly, putting one foot in front of the other. Each goat looked at the other, waiting for the other one to go back down, but neither one did. Slowly, slowly, both goats walked out over the deep, deep cli̜s, putting one foot ̊rmly in front of the other. Finally, they met in the middle. One goat pushed the other with his head, just a little. The other goat pushed back. Soon they were ̊ghting in the middle of  \nthe bridge, way up high over the fast-moving river far, far below.
